US Freeze "Deal" Getting Ridiculous: Obama Reneging On Promises, Refusing Written Commitments
Israel Insider ^ | November 25, 2010

Posted on 11/25/2010 12:57:43 PM PST by Strategy

Israel continues to wait for an official letter outlining the Obama Administration's commitments to Israel in return for a 90-day Jewish building freeze in areas claimed by the Palestinians, but Israeli media reports that they may keep waiting till proverbial hell freezes over. All of Benjamin Netanyahu's trumpeted "achievements" following his meeting with Hillary Clinton have come to nothing.

Originally, he claimed that in return for the building freeze, the US would provide a veto guarantee at the UN and give Israel 20 F-35 fighter jets. The freeze, he claimed, would not include disputed eastern Jerusalem. And, he assured Israelis, this would be the last time the US asked for or supported a Jewish building freeze.

Now Netanyahu looks like a laughing stock in front of the public and the ministers he tried to persuade to accept the deal. But no one is laughing.

Israel should only accept actual concessions from either the US or the PLO before it agrees to any extension of the freeze. For example, if Hamas delivered G. Shalit (kidnapped almost 4 years ago) or the US pardoned Jonathan Pollard, or delivered 35 jets today that’s a concession.

Any promise by Obama, Clinton, or the PA is worthless

Obama can only do one thing at a time. And he has more important things on his schedule, such as criss-crossing the country giving speeches to students and union members. Or having parties in the White House.

Regretably, it is getting too late in the season for golf, but there is always a pick-up basketball game or a visit to the exercise room.

Keep waiting Bibi...we’re still waiting for him to verify that he is constitutionally eligible to hold office ($2 million plus in lawyer fees). As a result, SCOTUS will have to weigh in on his intransigence.

U.S. Supreme Court confers on Obama eligibility

I’d trust any promise from Obama or Clinton about as far as I could drop kick my pickup truck.

I would say that it looks like the Oman has refused to sign on to Hillary’s promises. No politics there, just keep moving along, please.

Why is it that Bibi talks with so much good sense and resolve when he is OUT of power and then acts like such a bumbling fool when he is IN power?

Netanyahu needs to be fired, as he was in 1999, for the same reasons. He does not listen to his people, and he wants to negotiate the surrender of Jewish Land.

Why? He didn’t agree to anything yet, and at this point almost everyone but the most hard core on the sides agree on the “land for peace” formula. Even Sharon surrendered land for nothing.

The story of promising 20 Jets and vetoes at the UN and to never again ask for a freeze in return for 90 day freeze never made sense and you can check my posts I have said so since it was first announced. We would not and should not offer that kind of deal. I don’t know how it got started or what kind of game is being played here but this could be Netanyahu playing President Obama. The timing of the news story came around right when Obama was distracted by the election loss and his trips to India and Europe. Sec. Clinton shows up but the SoS office is in no place to publicly deny media reports about what was on offer.

I am beginning to suspect that this who story was cooked up by Netanyahu’s team. To what end, I don’t know.. but there is that old saying about the Israelis and Palestinians don’t neogtiate with each other, they negotiate with us. If Israel is asking for $3 billion in planes and diplomatic cover for a 90 freeze, Clinton and Obama have some idea of what it is going to cost to close an Israeli-Palestinian deal.

If Hitlery! is going to bail on the Obama administration so she can run against THE WON in the 2012 prinmary this is the issue that will give her cover to do so and this is the time to make her move.

Remember - Obama started his primary campaign on Feb. 10, 2007 - 21 months before the general election.

” ... All of Benjamin Netanyahu’s trumpeted “achievements” following his meeting with Hillary Clinton have come to nothing ... “

In days past, there would be headlines and articles about the stunning damage done to the SOS reputation, and therefore, ability to continue as SOS effectively.

I guess The Usurper and The Hilderbeast are above such assessments!
