Sorry, accidentally cut off the post. Last paragraph should read :

“Tonight, Bristol Palin will be on the Dancing With the Stars finale and there should be no shortage of viewers there given the controversy surrounding her improbable continued success on the show.”

Three million viewers is still impressive for a cable show. However those who thought that the show would gain audience as it progressed appear to have been mistaken.

TLC undercuts their ratings by the reruns as well. I watch the reruns of the Palin so I can watch another show I like that only runs the one a week with no other way to see it but at that time.

Ratings for Sarah Palin’s Alaska Stay Strong: 3 Million Viewers

Always when a show first airs, the ratings skyrocket, then it falls down to earth a little bit. No biggie, 3 million+ viewers is not too shabby. Plus, on Sunday night the Lakers played, bad scheduling.

This is not news. Every show has a huge audience and then gets back to reality. She will do her 8 or 10 episodes and be done with it as planned. Nothing horrible about this at all. Those 5 million voters will be voters that she needs for President, plus the 2 million Facebook folks, the million of us FREEPERS, the 2.7 million folks that purchased her first book. She is getting very close to the 51 percent she needs to win this election in 2012. Her new book comes out soon and if she gets another 2.7 million folks to buy the book that even adds to her total votes necessary to win the election. And then there is Dancing with the Stars who has 19 million folks watching that show so that doubles her votes just through that show. She has the election in the bag!!!!!

an Alaska-based travelogue reality show

IMO, too much reality show and not enough Alaska.

I couldn't get through week two without the fast-forward button.

I have Comcast Cable (decidedly pro-Obama and VERY Anti-Palin). My wife and I tuned in Sunday to see Sarah's 2nd show, and it was a re-run of the "Mama Grizzly" first episode.

That will kill ratings in a hurry.

The "Just For The Halibut" 2nd show we had to go to Comcast's "On Demand" feature to pull it up manually last night. These filth will do everything and anything, the more despicable, the better they like it.

I used to think that "Liberal/Progrssive" was a mental disorder. I know now that it is a sub-species, a much lower, less evolved life form compared to a conservative. Immature, venal, craven reprobates all.

In the mean time it still pulled higher ratings than Mad Men which is considered a smash by the MSM, because they love it.

MSNBC would kill for 3 mil. viewers.

A story from The Hollywood Reporter, eh?

Harrumph...virtually any periodical with "Hollywood" in the name has no credibility with me. I don't think there are more than a dozen Real American Patriots in that section of Los Angeles. It's mostly a den of homosexuals and socialists.

The bottom line is that I have reason to believe the viewership for Sarah Palin's wonderful show is growing, regardless of what's in some commie rag.

If I had a daughter, I’d rather she was watching Sarah Palin and her family outing in Alaska than the trash that came across the screen during the American Music Awards. I flipped it on during the commercials and couldn’t believe the slutty looking, no-class women on that show.

That's pretty normal for a new show.

The Leftist are just hoping her show drops off the air. They are so full of hate it’s unbelievable. Nevertheless, if you read between the lines these degenerate psycho paths hope this means that people do not want Sarah Palin as President.

Look I’m conservative and like Sarah a lot, but I will not watch her show. I prefer watching the NFL and channels like History, Military, Discovery, Fox News and Fox Business. The rats are so desperate. Think this election really shook them up. Obama and his goons seem to be on the war path.

The problem is not the number of viewers, but rather that the people watching are outside of the demographic that advertisers want to reach.

They need to do something to attract younger viewers.

God what a hit! I mean a show that beats out the season finale viewership for Mad Men(2.5) million, SP’s Alaska (3 million). Is something to be upset about IMO. / sarc

Yeah, “only” 3 million. Now, what are the audience sizes for all those other pundits? Sgt Schultz, Chrissie, Larry, Joe, Olberdork (is he back, not that I really care)?

Ooh, Ooh, Only 3 million viewers. I don’t want to watch that show.(with all the halibut clubbing, shotgun-shooting, fish-gutting,etc.) I want to watch MSNBC with Keith Olbermann and “tingly leg” Mathews!

I suspect people tuned into the first show on Sunday because they wanted to make sure they saw it. When it became apparent that TLC was going to rebroadcast the show over the upcoming week at different times; the audience has drifted off to time slots most convenient for them. “I can watch that Lakers game live; Sarah’s show will be on again Wednesday at 7.” It would be interesting to see TOTAL numbers for the first episode vs. the second.
