Lame-Duck Amnesty
Investor's Business Daily ^ | November 17, 2010 | IBD staff

Immigration Policy: Forget about jobs and tax cuts, high priorities for American citizens. Lame-duck lawmakers, at the president's urging , will concentrate on a "path to citizenship" for the children of illegal aliens.

Expiration of the Bush tax cuts will impose a job-killing, $3 trillion tax increase on a beleaguered economy reeling from near-double-digit unemployment. The necessity of finding a solution is paramount.

So what's atop President Obama's agenda? Meeting with leaders of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus to discuss passing the Dream (development, relief and education for alien minors) Act, a bill that has nothing to do with jobs and taxes, but a great deal to do with rewarding Obama's political base and ensuring an unending stream of Democratic voters.

Americans are leaving the Obama/Reid/Pelosi Communist Party in droves. They need to come up with more “voters” from somewhere. It looks like they are going to rebuild their voter base with rejects, criminals and malingerers from third world Socialist countries.

Most of the jobless are Obama voters who are already in the tank for the next election. They refuse to believe that their messiah is at fault for the 9.6% unemployment - it was Bush.

So Obama can ignore them and pander to the other bloc he needs to win re-election, the hispanic community, especially the millions of illegals who need to be added to the voter lists.

Americans and legal immigrants are beginning to wonder what benefits accrue to being an American citizen when illegal aliens and their offspring are treated better than law-abiding citizens.

Not much point in being a law-abiding citizen anymore.

Obama is a dedicated communist who thinks long term.

He’s more interested in entrenching his communist policies than getting reelected.

This lame-duck session is his last big chance!

Why do I have to obey the law when these people don’t?

There are several laws that I would like to ignore. It’s unfair to me to force me to comply.

Strange that a government discriminates against its own citizens.

If your Senator is undecided you need to contact him/her ASAP.
This will be very close, esp. since Burris will be voting instead if Kirk.

Especially those on the fence.

Do you consider ‘path to citizenship’ to be amnesty?

It is a practical reality unless someone can figure out how to round up 12 million people and deport them.

It's looking like this is going to pass. After all these years of fighting for it, the Dems are finally going to push it through.

You know it's hopeless when even conservative talk show hosts won't even cover it. Even on conservative discussion boards, these threads barely get any recognition. I guess people just finally gave up due to the onslaught of attempts. It's been nice knowing you, America.

My late grandfather used to say "Can't never could do nothin'!"

It's a fallacy to assert that one need round up 12 million people to deport them. If the nation passed a law penalizing employers $1000/day for every illegal alien employed then the greatest percentage of the illegals would quickly self-deport.
