Petition: Put Olbermann Back On The Air NOW!
Progressive Change Campaign Committee ^ | October 7, 2010 | PCCC

Posted on 11/07/2010 8:38:28 AM PST by Bean Counter

Background:

Huffington Post reports: "MSNBC has suspended star anchor Keith Olbermann following the news that he had donated to three Democratic candidates this election cycle."

NBC policy does not prohibit employees from donating to political candidates -- but MSNBC president Phil Griffin is miffed that Keith didn't get "prior approval' first. Meanwhile, Republicans Joe Scarborough and Pat Buchanan also gave political contributions -- but are not suspended. We've had enough insanity this week -- America doesn't need more with Keith kicked off the air.

Sign the petition to MSNBC -- then tell your friends.

If that's true, he was likely suspended for other reasons and MSNBC is doing him a favor for making this excuse. Do the Huffies really want to know what he was suspended for?

I would be for this, even with Olbermann, except it was in his contract, and (why is this fact omitted from most of these articles?) he put these three people on his show multiple times. How would these folks react if Bill O’Reilly invested in a product and had the manufacturer on his show multiple times without mentioning that fact?

He signed the contract to make his millions. He violated that contract, and used his show to promote these candidates.

I’d love to see the Huffington Post’s reaction when someone who’s signed a contract with them violates it. I have a feeling it’ll be a different story.

You don’t get to just decide a contract isn’t fair and get to vioate it.

How about this—if it’s truly this free speech thing, how about Olbermann finishes out his contract...for the payment of one dollar? I mean, if this is only about free speech and all.

Bring back Olbermann. And while you’re at it, bring back Pelosi. I personally think you need to move further to the left. Obama was too centrist.

I thought originally that NBC was trying to set a precedent to have ALL media types fired for contributing. THEN demand FOX do the same.

Uber-moan IS expendable in that fight.

But you're right. He is probably a closet pederast and animal-sodomite, or worse...

He pees under the table while on air and the crew is tired of cleaning it up.

>>>>NBC policy does not prohibit employees from donating to political candidates

They forget the part where it says ‘without prior permission of the editor in chief’ - which ‘Beerman did not get prior to making his donations.

‘Beerman was NOT suspended for the donations per se, but not adhering to company policy.

Lefties never feel a sense of responsibility for anything. They can do anything they want because their views are the only correct ones.

He donated to one candidate on the same day he interviewed her. That is generally a no no pretty much everywhere in the media.

Probably his contributions were payoff for convincing them to appear on his program.

They carefully avoid the fact that part of the agreement is that if you donate you have to let MSNBC know. It’s about openness and being aware of who’s doing what. Again, the core of this problem which isn’t being discussed is that he put these people on the air. He was secretly giving them money and then “innocently” giving them air time.

Stupid? Unfair? Then why’d you agree to it, Keith?

I looked at the comments on Huffington Post, and they are hilarious--someone said MSNBC isn't even CLOSE to being Left of Center!--but their dishonesty is hilarious. The attitude is the same-sold same-old--we're LIBERALS, so it's OKAY, whatever it is we're doing!

He’s been at war with Griffin for a long time. There is more to this than campaign donations. Maybe they have finally concluded he is a card carrying nut.

Maybe the “DemonRATS’ will lend their dead voters list.

Geeze, these loons are really missing an opportunity here... (d)oberman could go revitalize Air America with his tirades and perhaps breathe some life into the dead network... Surely (d)oberman can raise Air America’s ratings to higher than dead air, can’t he?
