people who against biofuels,
are either Arabs,
or shills for the oil companies Whatever makes you think that oil companies are in favor bio-fuels?
Can you come up with one logical reason why oil compabies would favor bio-fuels?
Archer-Daniels-Midland, yes. Exxon, no.

Yes, I know that. Corn is one of the most soil depleting crops there is.
And the fact is that many farmers are now locked into soy/corn crop rotation because, in some cases, they’ve “bet the farm” on Biofuels thanks to parasites like Tom Daschle who, just coinkdidinkly...
http://blogcritics.org/politics/article/senator-daschle-may-have-an-alcohol/
That means that land once utilized for producing other food crops is no longer used for those food crops.
It’s simple supply and demand.
Regardless, Ethanol is a scam.

[The production capacity of the United States alone for food stuffs has not even been scratched.]
Despite record yields, the gentlemen who are making the payments on this shed full of expensive machinery...
...think otherwise.
They know those production levels aren't sustainable. One major factor being WATER. One good drought (let alone one like that which created the Nebraska Sand Hills) - and the game will be over.
Despite high yields and record harvests - without Gooberment subsidization, they'd be losing money.
It's simple math - just like the fact that it takes more energy to produce ethanol than it creates.
So NO SALE.

Ethanol is crap, but bio-diesel is a good thing. When I retire in a few years I fully intend on buying a couple of diesel trucks (4x4 of course) and going into THIS business as a self interested hobby for a modicum of profit:
BIODIESEL All that is required is a source of waste material like the neighborhood Burger King that will still need to dispose of it's oil waste products from the oinion rings or french fries and whatnot. The footprint for the machinery is very small, as are the initial investments. I mean, retirees need to keep busy, right?

Decades ago, the enviro nazis got DDT banned. That results in about 1000 deaths each day in the third world from malaria.
Now, these Eco Nazis have made Mythanol an alternative green fuel and as a result: “The World Bank also says that rising food prices have pushed 100 million people worldwide below the poverty line. Riots have been sparked from Bangladesh to Egypt.”
The enviro Nazis are the real racists of the world and push abortion to go with their other mass extermination ideas like banning DDT and pushing Mythanol instead of oil.

You are wrong, but probably don't want to hear it.
Not all farmers are subsidized. But that is the theme on FR most days.

Biofuels are good extenders. We are way over stocked on grain and fats, and ethanol and bio diesel help that.
i But the boom town attitude is nuts.

don’t confuse energy, with liquid-fuel-energy
ethanol production, the gain of liquid energy is more the
ten to one,
the other energy inputs are coal and natural gas,
of which we got plenty
