My guess is this little arragement to keep Roland Burris in for the lame-duck session to vote the "right" way was decided during Kirk's little closed-door "beer summit" with his pal Alexi.

This is so stupid, I don't know where to begin. If they were going to make a deal like that, why would they do it at the "beer summit" in front of every reporter in town? And, in any case, Kirk has no say in when he gets seated so how could he make a deal about it?

There is a lot of stupidity going around here since the election. Maybe it will settle down, although since now we get to start the 2012 presidential election, I'm afraid we might be in full-on political ignorance mode.
