Ex-President George W. Bush rips wisdom of Barack Obama, Sarah Palin and John McCain to friends

WASHINGTON - Two years of retirement haven't dulled George W. Bush's political zest - and President Obama and Sarah Palin are among his under-the-radar targets.

The 43rd President has told friends the ex-Alaska governor isn't qualified to be President and criticizes Arizona Sen. John McCain for putting Palin on the 2008 GOP ticket and handing her a national platform.

"Naming Palin makes Bush think less of McCain as a man," a Republican official familiar with Bush's thinking told the Daily News.

"He thinks McCain ran a lousy campaign with an unqualified running mate and destroyed any chance of winning by picking Palin."

Were it not for Palin, McVain would have been humiliated at the polls, not just defeated.

“Republican official familiar with Bush’s thinking told the Daily News.”

Ah the typical unnamed source, which usually turns out to be the writer of the column.

I don’t believe this. Bush has never “ripped” anybody.

"a Republican official familiar with Bush's thinking told the Daily News. "

This is the closest this piece got to naming a source.

No quotes from Bush or family?

I don’t think Bush ever thought much of mxxain from the jump, but I can’t see this coming from him. IF it did, I am sure someone will confront him with it during his book tour.

I demand to know the name of this “republican official”. Seems like the RINOs are pulling out all the stops to defeat conservatism, just like their “friends” across the aisle.

McCain’s choice of Palin is the only thing that saved him from complete humiliation. Without her, the amnesty-loving RINO would have lost every state.

The party needs to be purged of these useless liberal-lite idiots, and that purge cannot come too soon.

At first I thought this was a quote from Dubya’s new book. It turns out it comes from “unnamed Republican sources.” I think that’s the goal of this article: they’re trying to make it as if it comes from Dubya’s new book.

There are a dozen other Republican choices who would have at least brought the same exact numbers. This is not a good argument to proceed into. If you asked me about the timing of this...Palin would have been better off without the national stage until 2012 and she’d have more accomplishments to talk about as governor of Alaska. In this case, Bush is absolutely right.
