(NM) Governor: Martinez Win Not Indictment of His Administration ("A national vote" Richardson says)
The Albuquerque Journal ^ | November 4, 2010 | Dan Boyd

Gov. Bill Richardson took his lumps during New Mexico's gubernatorial campaign and said Thursday he wished he'd had the opportunity to punch back.

Two days after Republican Susana Martinez won a decisive victory to become the state's first elected female governor, the two-term Democratic officeholder voiced frustration at having his policies repeatedly -- and forcefully -- targeted by Martinez's campaign.

"My only regret is that I wasn't able to defend myself and the accomplishments of my administration in so many areas," Richardson said after a news conference in Santa Fe.

Richardson, who cited teacher salary increases, a decrease in DWI fatalities and renewable energy initiatives as among his top accomplishments, will leave office at the end of this year.

Despite having his approval numbers drop sharply during the past two years, Richardson said Martinez's 54 percent to 46 percent victory over Democratic Lt. Gov. Diane Denish wasn't an indictment of his administration.

"This was a national vote," Richardson said.

Richardson cited teacher salary increases [NM is 49th after 8 years of his administration], a decrease in DWI fatalities [somewhat true but too many are by illegal aliens with Richardson-issued driver's licenses] and renewable energy initiatives as among his top accomplishments [bird-killing windmills on every mesa and new cap and tax regulations for power companies and the oil and gas industry adopted on election day].

Rats make it hard to roll back regulations whether in DC or Santa Fe.

If the election was national, then it was a refudiation of Obama and Progressivism. So the lame-duck governor is contradicting Obama and the Progresives in the Washington power structure. And those in the anti-Constitutionalist media (but I repeat myself.)

Diane Denish, his Lt. Gov. was running. Ads from Martinez had her joined at the hip with Richardson and any picture of her made sure to include Bill in it.

In 88 I was on Lloyd Bentsen’s Secret Service detail when he went to , of all places, Shiprock NM........And Richardson came along . He was a joke, dressed in a drug store cowboy outfit that was two sizes to small and just the funniest thing I had ever seen. He looked like 220 pounds of crap in a 180 pound sack.

If in fact that were the case, Bill, then why didn’t Denish win? Or could it be the voters in NM saw her as a version of you with bigger breasts? (Or were those SMALLER breasts?)
