This might reveal my lack of economic savvy...would be great if the cuts involve all UNION employees rather than non-union employees. Yes?

It should NOT depend on revenue, to determine how many useless leeches to cut off.

Christie SHOULD say we will conduct extensive zero based budget cycle, to determine essentials, and cut everything else.

It should reduce expenses, and use the surplus to pay down debt.

He's got it RIGHT!

The more AFSCME layoffs, the better.

I'm hoping Kasich goes the same route in Ohio now, as he's already been hinting that he's gonna get the budget and handouts in order.

Keep up the good work Governor, but lets not hear all the Presidential talk, let him get this job done. If he can get it done here there will be plenty of time for him to move up.
Lord knows we need someone to move up.

Hope they’re all those gravy-guzzling toll-booth operators that were pulling down six-figure salaries.

It’s a start. When he’s finished fixing NJ, can we send him around to the other states? Could he lead governor tutorials for the other govs?

JMO, but he should withhold raises until the private sector catches up.

Not enough. Should be 120,000 NJ state employees.

...called for cutting 1,300 state workers, including union and nonunion employees. He said the cuts would save $8.8 million.

It should save a lot more than that. That works out to less than $7,000 per person.
