Voters in the 28th Senate District have re-elected late Democratic Sen. Jenny Oropeza, setting the stage for a special election early next year.

Oropeza, who had been battling illness much of the year, died unexpectedly last month at age 53. Because the Long Beach Democrat died so close to the election, her name remained on the ballot.

The cemetery vote elected one of their own. Just another election in California.

Why would they have a special election? If a person is ineligible for an office on the day of the election, then the eligible candidate with the most votes should be declared the winner.

Unborn children are not considered persons but dead democrats are?

No, her death turned the vote into an instant "none of the above" choice. But it did indicate the sentiment of the voters was RAT and that would be taken into consideration when making the appointment.

That said, I hope the Republican House tells California, Colorado, and a few other states to go pound sand when they come for a bailout.

We don't have that choice in California. The democrats voted for a dead person. Dead people are ineligible to hold office (although I do believe that Nancy Pelosi is a Zombie).

Hence, the candidate with the most votes who is eligible to take office should be sworn in.

Late Sen. Jenny Oropoeza re-elected in 28th Senate District
(Californians elect the dead)

Heck, Dead Democrats vote early AND often.

Reminds me of an apocryphal (sp?) about Lyndon Baines (sp?) Johnson.
(that’s saying it’s probably a made-up story that reveals a truth)
Here’s my mangled recollection of the story.

Legend says that LBJ was walking down the street on election day
when he sees a small boy on the curb crying loudly.
LBJ approaches the boy and says “Son, why are you crying?”
The boy says “My DEAD grandfather voted for the Democrats today and...
HE DIDN’T come by to visit me and the family!”

I’ve told trusted friends that Pelosi is a robot.
And more dangerous than the Termintor series from the future.

"The cemetery vote elected one of their own."

Yes. They vote. They might as well hold office.

And don't forget: The majority of California voters are brain dead.

This is a large constituency.

I think they elected Moonbeam because they believe he can channel for them.

Update, Star got clobbered:
Congress - 37th District
Laura Richardson 69.2%
Star Parker 22.7%
Nicholas Dibs 8.1%

California really went off the deep end yesterday. May the new House tell them to solve their own problems when they come had-in-hand looking for a bailout.
