Fed Likely to Announce $500 Billion of Purchases, Survey Shows

The New York Fed, the branch of the Federal Reserve System that implements monetary policy, asked about expectations for the size of the program and the time over which it would be completed, according to a survey obtained by Bloomberg News.

The Fed is expected to spend $500B to buy their own IOUs. So where does the $500B come from? More IOUs? It doesn’t make sense.

Glad you liked it. It is such an appropriate way of explaining how the FED and the government are keeping things going.

I wish I could claim credit for it, but alas, I read it somewhere several months ago.
