Maybe it’s just me and my fear of making a fool out of myself.

But, honestly, if you were to throw the ball out for a game, and you would be on TV, wouldn’t you spend a couple hours on on a mound somewhere - practicing?

I might not throw a 100 mph ball into the strike zone; but it would be at least be a respectable pitch. There is no shame in a 70-80 mph ball, thown accurately.

If you’ve ever been to a “speed pitch” booth, IMHO you’ll find that you think a 55 mph fastball is respectable.

That's right, Jamie Moyer has made a great career out of those...

These are lobs at about 40mph. No need to try to power it. Just throw the dang thing, and make it look decent.

Nolan Ryan threw out the first pitch for Game 3... believe it was clocked in the 67-68 mph range... and he threw it from the mound.

Very respectable velocity.

If he was in playing shape/form these days, I'm sure could still hit the mid- to high-80s.

Actually, I believe(Obama) did do that

Watching a slow motion playback of his pitch delivery, the president said that his problem was that he just released the ball a little too early and high – contrary to his practice rounds at the White House earlier in the week.
