Struggling woman has to sell Obama letter to help pay for house

A struggling mom who wrote to President Obama about her financial hardship and received a handwritten response from him saying, "Things will get better!," has had to sell the letter to an autograph dealer to help pay for a house.
Jennifer Cline, 28, from Monroe, Mich., wrote to Obama describing how she and her husband had lost their jobs in 2007. She wrote, "I lost my job, my health benefits and my self-worth in a matter of five days."

How can anyone be so stupid as to believe that Obama cares about them?Blame the school system. It consistently teaches that government is supposed to be your friend, your "big brother" who looks after you to help you out when you need it.
The other problem is that for most of human history, quite possibly up until the founding of this country, most people were willing to put up with any level of oppression or abuse from their government, in exchange for a lifestyle that provided what they thought would be their basic needs.
