Libertarian candidate Tom Rose garners 6 percent of the vote

Gah, when are these Libertarians going to learn their 3rd party bids will virtually never be successful and they only serve to siphon votes away from Republicans. We need to make sure to at least get Green party people registered as candidates in every race we can to offset the damage Libertarians and other conservative 3rd party candidates do to us.

I wish I could vote against him but I have my own battle here in NC 4 with David Price.

I went over to the Civitas website since I’m from NC to take a look at recent polls. Oh my, there’s lots of good NC news!

According to a Sep poll both houses are going to flip from D to R. My state senator is down by 9 points in a recent poll vs May. He’s going to lose and he’s a Dem. The really good news about that poll though is that I’m in Heath Shuler’s House district and a lot of the same Counties are in both the state Senate district and the US House district. Admittledly, they are the more rural districts but the momentum is away from Dems here in WNC.

OK, Renee, this is a gift, and your next TV ad.....

Open: Video clip of BE first time saying “who are you”....

Nice shot of Renee: “Well. Bob, I’m glad you asked. I’m Renee Elmers, and I’m going to be sitting in your seat in January and represent people of the 2nd Congressional district much more appropriately than you have.”

Second clip of BE saying: “who are you”....

Elmers: “Yes, Bob, you see, being involved in healthcare services for XX years, I know the inherent problems in the system, and certainly know that the ObamaCare bill you voted for is going to end up costing North Carolinaians lots more money....... when it was promised their costs would go down. Bob, that wasn’t a very smart vote.”

Third clip of BE saying: “who are you....”

Elmers: “Bob, and I know this is hard for you to understand, but representing a district is a huge honor, and I will always be forthright and honestly answer any questions anyone has about my stances and voting record. I wouldn’t vote for trillions in pork spending. I wouldn’t vote to tax energy. Bob, you just don’t get it and the people of the second district understand that. Buh-bye, Bob.”

Agree 100%. But the ones doing the real damage are the absolute moron conservatives who vote for them. Plenty of them at FR.

Yup, I know. I argue with them frequently. It turns out that they expect moderate/establishment Republicans to back their candidates if they win the primary, but will turn around and vote 3rd party if the nominee isn't to their liking and doesn't meet their purity test.

We have this problem in Illinois. Yes, Kirk is a RINO, but he won a majority of primary voters and is the nominee - yet there are hordes of people here determined to go vote for Labno the libertarian even though he has absolutely no chance to win whatsoever.

It's mind boggling stupid, but they won't listen.

I'll believe that when I see it. 112 years is a long time to wait for that to happen, and I'm sure there will be some "surprise" wins for the Dhims.

“But the ones doing the real damage are the absolute moron conservatives who vote for them”

There’s only one purity test in this election: Are you 100% opposed to Obama’s agenda and will you vote against repealing it lock stock and barrel, and are you the anti-Obama candidate most likely to be elected?

That’s it. That’s who I’m voting for. Period. I care about nothing else. Nothing else matters. No other issues. Nothing. Nada. Zip. That one purity test covers the most important issues facing us today, namely whether our country will survive in its form of the last 200 years, or whether it becomes the destroyed nation depicted in “Atlas Shrugged”. I care not a whit about what a candidate has done or said, I care only about whether that candidate will vote to repeal the Obama agenda, faithfully casting vote after vote after vote, until Obammunism remains nothing more than the ashes of a brief and fearful venture into U.S. National Social Fascism.

In last Saturday’s NBC17 debate between Renee Ellmers and Congressman Etheridge, there was an interesting exchange:

Renee Ellmers: “Congressman, you said that something will have to give, well the people of district two are going to give, and give, and give, in order to keep this massive healthcare bill in place. Am I correct to assume, and I guess this is a question, you believe the government can handle one sixth (1/6) of the economy better than the free enterprise system? That Americans, North Carolinians can’t make those choices and put those things in place better than the government?”

Moderator Kim Genardo: “Rebuttal, or shall we move on?

Congressman Bob Etheridge: “Move on.”
