Veteran Election Watcher Charlie Cook: I’ll be sacking groceries if Democrats retain House

Veteran election handicapper Charlie Cook left no doubt Wednesday that he believes a large wave will sweep Republicans into control of the House next week.

The founder of the Cook Political Report said he will be “sacking groceries” if Democrats manage to cling to power in the lower chamber.

Republicans need to net 39 seats to win the majority in the House. Cook, appearing on MSNBC, said 100 seats are in play.

If anything surprising happens election day, Cook said, it will be how bad Democrats fare.

“To be honest, I think the odds are higher that it’s over 60 than under 40,” he said of how many seats Democrats will lose.

He predicts Democrats will lose between 48 to 60 seats.

“It’s been a long time since we’ve had anything like this happening,” Cook said.

He uses that line frequently. In 2008 he said that he would be sacking groceries if McCain won. I sent him a job application from our local supermarket. Unfortunately, he was right about the outcome of that election.

I notice that he didn’t say anything about the Senate. It seems like these analysts don’t think the GOP is going to take the upper chamber after all.

Some of us remember the off-year elections in the past when this has happened. 1994 wasn’t *that* long ago, Charlie.

But he’s right that it has been a *long* time when you had a split between parties in control of the House and the Senate. 1930 is the date I saw.

Might want to rethink his job choice. If the democrats retain control there won’t be groceries or much of anything else to buy for very long.

2008 was, indeed, a “historic” election. We saw a packaged celebrity with no platform win the White House after our lib lapdog media got behind him, our entertainment industry fawned all over him, our college dolts jumped on board and we ended up with a marxist fool with his hand picked czars ruining America. Yes that was historic. and embarrassing.

Now, 2 years later, We the People will make history with a corrective action for the history books. We saw the mistake, voted for a return to Constitutional leadership, and started to RETAKE America from the insane left. Forty years from now, this crazy 3 years will be studied by eighth graders in civics class.

Assuming they will be teaching civics.

Mr. Cook, although I hope you do not lose your job as a political prognosticator, I hope you don’t live near Houston or you won’t be able to find a job as a grocery sacker. All those jobs belong to the illegals who are just doing the jobs Americans don’t want to do. Well, those plus fast food workers, construction workers, landscapers, and those building roads for the State of Texas.

Cook was originally from Shreveport, Louisiana but now lives in the power center of America — Washington DC.

Thanks, he shouldn’t have any problem finding a menial job in DC then, because the locals certainly don’t work.
