MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Six people in Hennepin County have been charged with voter fraud for allegedly voting in the 2008 election when they were ineligible.

According to criminal complaints, all 6 of the accused are convicted felons who voted in the Nov. 4, 2008, election even though they knew they weren't allowed to vote because they had past convictions and hadn't had their right to vote restored.

3 of them face one felony count, and three others face two felony counts.

The Hennepin County Sheriff's Office says it investigated a total of 110 allegations of voter fraud and ultimately submitted six for charges.

Sheriff Rich Stanek says the charges serve notice that "we will not tolerate cheating in our elections."

Fardus Hassan Osman, 22, of Minneapolis, and John Joseph Sesin, 45, of Eden Prairie, are charged with registering to vote while ineligible and voting while ineligible, both felonies.

Others charged with voting while ineligible include David Christian Schmeisser, 40, Deephaven; Kristina Jane Mossberg, 44, Minneapolis; Andre Von Rose, 50, Minneapolis, and Cassidy Cole Schuster, 27, Minneapolis.

Each defendant allegedly signed a Voter Registration Card before or during the Nov. 4, 2008 election, indicating they had the right to vote because they had not been convicted of a felony or had been discharged from their sentence.

None of the defendants were in custody.

How about arresting the Democrats who kept recounting until Franken, designated court jester in the Senate, won by 300 votes? It certainly makes MN the laughing stock of the country.

- You can legally vote by showing up with an Xcel Energy bill with your name and address on it!!!

- the Demon party has gone to the immigrant communities-
Somali,Liberian,Nigerian etc. and told them they can vote-

(get this - they claim they are telling them only to
vote in local elections -as a resident of the city
they live in.)- they get their names- and have a follow-
up from - you guessed it ACORN- or some other SOROS
leftist org.- and then you have the mess that is Minnesota

And a bunch of RINO republicans think it is just fine-

BY the way- ALL, that’s Right ALL of the 130 looked into
voted for the Demons- unless there is conclusive proof- of
them falsifying a document - they were let go-

were screwed

This crap is happening more often these days and will continue in greater numbers until some people start serving serious prison time.

I think a noisy and widely publicized prosecution right before 11/2 might discourage some current voter fraud...

Thing is we will have to form our own courts and hire our own prosecutors since the ones owned by the demonrats won’t prosecute

With Acorn helping Franken steal the recount race for Senate, plus the felons voting, Minnesota’s Democrat Secretary of State Mark Ritchie is running TV commercials telling how above-board he is. The pressure is increasing.

Ellison wants to ban photo ID as requirement for voting
http://www.duluthnewstribune.com/ap/index.cfm?page=view&id=D8SKGI6G1

Requiring photo IDs to vote in federal elections would be banned under legislation introduced Wednesday by Rep. Keith Ellison, who said such requirements disenfranchise minorities, the poor, women, elderly and young people.

“While photo IDs seem harmless, they are in fact the modern day poll tax,” Ellison, D-Minn., said in a statement.

Ellison, who serves on the Judiciary Committee, got an important backer for the bill, as the panel’s chairman, Michigan Democrat John Conyers, signed on a co-sponsor.

Ellison proposed the bill the day after the chief of the Justice Department’s voting rights division, John Tanner, apologized at a House Judiciary subcommittee hearing for saying that aging is not a problem with black voters because they die before they become elderly. Ellison and other Democrats grilled Tanner at that hearing.

At a National Latino Congreso in Los Angeles earlier in the month, Tanner had discussed state laws that require photo identification for voting, saying that elderly voters disproportionately don’t have the proper IDs.

“That’s a shame, you know, creating problems for elderly persons just is not good under any circumstance,” Tanner said, according to video posted on YouTube. “Of course, that also ties into the racial aspect because our society is such that minorities don’t become elderly the way white people do. They die first.”

Tanner had also been criticized for clearing a Georgia law requiring voters to show government-issued photo IDs at the polls. A subsequent photo ID law was upheld by a federal judge last month, and the U.S. Supreme Court will consider Indiana’s photo ID law, which is similar to Georgia’s, this term.

Ellison noted that people do not need a photo ID to vote in Minnesota.

“In Minnesota we go to great lengths to make voting as inclusive as possible,” he said, arguing that has helped with voter turnout. But advocates of voter ID laws argue they’re needed to prevent voter fraud.

Rep. Lamar Smith of Texas, the ranking Republican on the House Judiciary Committee, said that requiring a voter ID helps preserve the integrity of the voting process.

“The right to vote is one of the most fundamental liberties we have as Americans,” he said. “And to protect that right, we must ensure that those who vote do so legally.”

“modern day poll tax,”

No, that would be if we made you pay to vote with a check and produce an ID to verify your check.

Watch a leftie’s head explode: ask them if they believe kids should be “forced” to show valid photo ID before purchasing cigarettes. Or does that “disenfrachise” them?
