Susana Martinez is likely to become the very fist female Hispanic governor of New Mexico. Surely, Hispanic, women and Hispanic womens organizations country wide are supporting her.
But there is a problem with Susana Martinez, a big problemcue evil musicshe is a

oh, the horror!
an R word!
she is a Republicanoh, the humanity!!!...
No question that Clayton Williams managed to concoct one of the most malicious statements in human history when he likened bad weather to rape and stated that in both cases, 'If it's inevitable, just relax and enjoy it.
The issue, the local issue, the political issue, the politics of personal destruction issue is that Susana Martinez is being demonized because of what a sicko said two decade ago.

The Bobby Knight campaign strategery?............
Wow, if that is the best attack the Democrats can come up with, this woman must be wonderful.
Ordinarily neither condition is conducive to good coaching, but he's a tough guy who has pretty much overcome that disability.
Still, rather than being praised for his success he's condemned for the few occasions where these conditions have gotten the best of him.
With the firing of Miles Brand at Indiana (and his subsequent death), Bobby's detractors have generally slunk away into the nether regions of existence where mental illness is considered a matter of will and not genetics.
Yes, in modern times these conditions can be treated successfully. The victims who make valiant efforts to overcome them should be praised, not demonized. They already have plenty of that.
Yeah. I think the latest poll had her up 11.
Don’t get me wrong. I like Bobby Knight. He is a great coach. The media is a bunch of pansies...................
I remember one man who came to fix the sink. We got into a discussion of politics. He said: "If the government can tell me what to do on my own property, then I don't own my property!" We agreed all down the line.
There were many like that.
The only person got into a political argument with was some stupid woman who was obviously not Hispanic. She appeared to be of some kind of European extraction--probably eastern Europe--still had a thick accent. She saw me putting up a "Vote Republican" sign and started harrassing me with histrionics like: "I don't vannnt to hafff to look attt that sign!" I left her still screaming like the Democrat-freak-nutcase she was--typically trying to silence the opinions they don't like.
Somehow we've got to get the rest of New Mexico to come to its senses and kick the Democrats out of office and ignore the Democrat-freak-nutcases.
I know there are some Hispanics who are awful--drug gangs etc.--but I've never encountered any of those people.
Tex Antionne back from the grave.
--somebody needs to tell this writer a hundred million times , over a million outlets, IN A VOICE LOUD ENOUGH TO BE HEARD OVER A HURRICANE, to be careful with exaggeration---
I agree with that sentiment -- when it's applied to Susana's upcoming win. She's up by 12 in the latest poll and I hear she won last night's debate. And regarding that statement by Williams, she took all his campaign contributions and gave them as a donation to a rape crisis center (the one in Las Cruces I think).

Maybe he can sit back and enjoy losing the election...
