MTV Denies That Obama Telecast Is Political (No equal time for GOP...)

Viacom networks MTV, BET and CMT are giving an hour of free air time to President Obama less than three weeks before the midterm elections.

The so-called “A Conversation with President Obama” will be live and commercial-free on six Viacom networks at 4 p.m. on Thursday. The networks will not give equal time to a Republican before the election, according to a spokeswoman.

MTV denies that the Obama hour of TV is political, despite the timing, weeks before the midterm elections.

I predict the only effect this stunt will have will be on MTV's viewership numbers.

I doubt kids are much interested in listening to this blowhard anymore.

We’re not giving an hour of free time to the president to freely express his views. We’re hosting a town hall with 250 young people to ask questions of the president...

And of course 0bummer will not blast Republicans during his typical 15-minute non-answers to direct questions./sarc

Too bad we are forced by Dish Network to pay for this lousy channel, as well as BET and MSNBC etc. I will dump our satellite contract and pay the penalty to subscribe to any system that will allow me to choose the channels I pay for.

I've never watched MTV. I am surprised at your statement that they don't show music videos any more. I'm like you. What do they do now?

Just let Fox News try something like this with a conservative candidate three weeks before the election and see how fast the FCC destroys them.

They are broadcasting his free commercial onto CMT also. They really are so low - they want to play dirty and kick us in the teeth at every turn, and they wonder why we won’t play by their ‘rules’ any longer...

That is the only way that will get their attention. Enough people drop them from cable they we pay attention.

It’s two bit politics, and two bit law...really pathetic, huh?

It's fair when they say it's fair.
It's settled law when they say it's settled law.
It's time to reach across the aisle when they say it is time to reach across, and-
It's time to ram through the Marxist agenda when they say “We won.”
November cannot get here quick enough. It's a race to see if they country can be saved.
