The poor kid's art career is definitely down the tubes now.

The teacher has apologized. The parents seem to be overreacting to something that’s over and done with.

It is a dumb kid's hat.
The child doesn't know about history.
Big deal about nothing.

The teacher should have said it was a tribute to the late Sen. Byrd.

Dang, if only he'd told his dad he wanted to be a princess. Perhaps daddy dearest would have been happier if this were the look he were going for?

It “appears to look like”???
Do these parents have som particularly perverse cultural or mental background? Like, from obama’s propaganda ministry, mental institution, or something?

It appears to look like a Ku Klux Klan hat. . .”
I think the proper term is “hood.”

Then they’ll love my Halloween costume. I’m getting a pompadour wig, a guitar, and a Nazi uniform and going as John Cougar Deathcamp.

Dumb parents!
Did they miss the part where he said the KID DESIGNED IT HIMSELF?

Looks like a Klan hat, really? I'd say to the kid and to any sane adult it was colorful, perhaps red, white, and blue, and appropriate for typical 6 y/o games. I am amazed that even a parent looking to take offense could manage this overblown a reaction. "Monday, Dallas Smith, 6, came home wearing a white, cone-shaped mask . . . Smith confronted Winfield-Scotts principal Tuesday morning. She apologized. So did the district superintendent . . . Smith and his wife are moving their son to a school in Pittsburg, Kansas. They believe administrators in Fort Scott need sensitivity training."
Mask on Monday after school, confrontation with the principal and the district superintendent Tuesday morning, kid out of the school system and story in the newspaper on Wednesday morning. I wonder if these parents work as hard at their jobs as they do at taking offense over nothing, or are they angling for a "the art teacher acted stupidly" moment and a free beer? The worst part is that this little boy looks like a nice kid, and it's obvious what the parents are going to do to him with twelve more years of indoctrination.

I hope the Smiths don’t have any white sheets in their house. Their poor son may now make a full Klan uniform now that he has been instructed in how to make a KKK “hat” in school.

I bet the kid has never seen a klan hood, or a klansman for that matter. Hell, I’ve never seen (in real life other than Robert Byrd) a klansman or klan hood.
