Full title: Does ET live on Goldilocks planet? How scientists spotted 'mysterious pulse of light' from direction of newly-discovered '2nd Earth' two years ago
Bad move sending all those messages. Most of them are probably so whiny they will scare the Vulcans away.

Two very interesting aspects of the story...
One, Gliese 581 is a red dwarf star. Primitives in todays world trying to devise an astral religion from scratch would end up worshiping the sun and moon; nonetheless the two chieftain gods of all of the ancient religions were Jupiter and Saturn, which would almost certainly be red dwarf stars without the nearby presence of our sun.
Two is the tidal lock i.e. the fact that the Goldilocks planet has one pole pointed straight at the star, permanently. Greek and Roman myths all claim there were no seasons prior to the flood. That's what you'd expect with a tidal lock formation.

So, a signal is detected from an area where we now detect a potentially habitable (in human terms) planet.
If it turns out to be signs of intelligent life.....wow.

Astronomers observed flashes of light, too - on Mars, just before the invasion in “Ware of the Worlds”.
Something to think about. Reagan said it best in is speech to the U.N. General Assembly.

Several years ago I bought one of those billion lumen spotlights to carry in my car for shining deer at night. For the heck of it, I was aiming it at the moon trying to light it up...........and now this story comes out.
Coincidence?

This is amazing, we have a big mystery associated with this planet already. We can build telescopes to determine the chemical makeup of it’s atmosphere, if it shows to be similar to our planet.... Wow!
