MUSKEGON, Mich. (WOOD) - Some Mona Shores High School students say administrators stole the homecoming king throne from the rightful winner -- a transgender senior.
The controversy is playing out in the school's hallways, and on Facebook.
Some classmates believe the crown belongs to Oakleigh Reed -- who was born as Oakleigh Marie, but who now goes as Oakleigh Marshall, or Oak for short.
In fact, friends have started a Facebook page, titled, "Oak is My King."
"It's the senior class that votes for their representative," Reed said. "What they did was taking away the voice of the senior class."

Oak Reed received the most votes for homecoming King. Period. Our school not only lied to students, but they also promoted transphobia. Our school has made it clear that they don't want a transgendered student to represent Mona Shores. As students, we must stand up to assert the rights of Oak, and transgendered students everywhere. After the craziness of Homecoming is over, students are encouraged to wear "Oak is my King" t-shirts on October 1st. Either make one yourself or ask for the design at the t-shirt store across from Blockbuster. I encourage all to write letters not only to our school paper, but to the chronicle as well.(Our world is so messed up ...)

One more reason I’m glad I’m not in high school anymore. Wouldn’t mind being a teenager again, physically speaking. But no way would I be able to stand the nonsense going on in the schools today.
From the headline, I thought this was about some old geezer who was next in line to be king of some Muslim country.
It has to be over 21 to qualify for the Addadicktome procedure, but is in luck because it will be covered on Mom and Dad’s policy until it is 26, thanks to Premier Hussein....
It’s infuriating - but predictable - that
the Society For the Propagation of the Notion that Up is Down
will use
the pretense of science
to push their propaganda,
but for the one issue for which
the objective science
is both conclusice and undeniable,
they pretend the the science is irrelevant.
