It hasn’t been funny for years.

I'd say since these years.

Including Steve Martin of course

Folks, just ponder for one minute, and remember what SNL did to Sarah Palin. I should what SNL did for Sarah Palin. Oh, I know the magnificent Ms. Palin was destined for greatness, but when SNL trashed her, it only made her stronger and widened the group of American voters who became aware of her, good or bad. Most American voters are not so hard line that they will not judge a candidate fairly, so when the media attack folks like O’Donnell, Palin, Limbaugh, etc. it only serves to stir more interest in that person. The other thing to note is that SNL would never go after someone that does not have great public recognition and....that also helps the person they are attacking!!!

Right. No name recognition and SNL won't touch you. How many of those funny John Boehner skits do you remember?

I guess the liberals never learn.
When they attack someone like Christine O'Donnell they only embarrass themselves.
In attacking Christine O'Donnell they bring more attention and publicity to her and cause people to notice and seek out the truth about that her.

“Men love darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.”

That verse has always fascinated me because of the order of it. It is so profound, albeit Politically Incorrect. Yet it so clearly tells us why the atheist left is so militant and so filled with hate for Christianity. It’s because Christianity tells them they are wrong because they want to do wrong things. This is the judgement they cannot abide.

The funny thing is, true libertarianism and conservatism never tells people what they really can or can’t do, because of their commitment of personal freedom. It’s the tyrannical left that really does that.

I wonder how many Tea Partiers dont watch SNL anymore?..
Or read NYT or most newspapers and/or magazines?..

Even Stewart bashes the democrats every rare now and again..
You know to get a smatering of conservative watchers..

Many People, like ME, have had it with all of them..
I see NO humor in dis-assembling this Republic by democrats...
Red Eye is more cutting edge than SNL is these days..

I agree. Christine O’Donnell is going to win. The polls will begin to reflect it toward election day. This is a wave election and she is a GREAT candidate. Delaware has been “blue by collusion” with the Establishment controlling statewide politics. O’Donnell broke their grip this year. In presidential years, Delaware went GOP for Reagan (the most conservative President of the 20th Century) THREE times (I count 1988 as Reagan’s third term).

There have been no demographic changes of note. The Establishment is on the ropes. That, the wave component and her superiority as a candidate, will make O’Donnell the new U.S. Senator and an overnite political superstar.

Candidates, be it O’Donnell or Palin, have prime responsibility for accounting for their past. A satire on O’Donnell is ok but the endless repetation of “masturbation” isn’t. Who should I be angriest at — SNL or audiences who enjoy and ask for more open-sewer performing on our public stage?

What about abortion, gay marriage, gay adoption, coming to America unwanted, libertarians and liberals allow all that, conservatives don't.

Do you side with conservatism, or the liberals/libertarians on those issues?

Bull, Quayle was a republican JFK, he was almost a conservative carbon copy of JFK and he was just as successful in politics, actually much more successful, but the media recognized his importance and future, and took him out.

The reason the media went after Palin so fiercely, immediately, yet did not go after Obama and Biden, was because of politics, not their level of celebrity.

SNL and the media work to brand threats to liberalism with a negative image, to drive away undecided voters and to weaken their power if they do get into the office, the branding never disappears. How many people know that Chevy Chase’s victim, President Ford, was the greatest athlete to ever be in the White House?

Palin has high negatives. True. And her supporters love her all the more for all the attacks.

You cannot seem to grasp, the numbers would be better, without the attacks, the supporters more numerous.

Conservatism would easily dominate America in every aspect of life and politics, if the media were neutral.

I saw it. The O’donnell segment was tedious, predictable and boring. The rest of the show was pretty funny ... especially the ‘Weekend update” with NY Gov Paterson.

The key with these comedic attacks is to laugh along like an adult. Sarah, Hillary, Gov. Patterson are the recent targets that have laughed along, visited the show and defused the potential damage.

They come across as good natured, reasonable and adult. You never give a bully the power by getting upset. So far CO has handled the barbs with class and humor. I think she will benefit from the SNL nonsense.

Precisely, Ansel12.

You’re right on both counts.

Furthermore, SNL does not do skits about Republicans to endear or enhance them to the viewing audience. Quite the opposite, in fact.

1) A child is a person. No one has the right to terminate someone elses right to life.

2) Gay marraige is a government imposition. Frankly, sometimes I wonder if government should be in the marriage business at all. It’s because government has become so invasive in our lives that we’ve come to the point that we have to register our relationships with them in the first place.

3) Gay adoption is totally against natural law. It seems to me giving a child to gays is depriving a child of a mother or father. But my thought on that is you should be able to give your child to a person of your choice to raise, if that is what is necessary. Most people feel this way, and I would bet you that if they could give their child to an agency and EXCLUDE homosexuals, most people would. But in certain areas, like MA, the church has actually been forced out of the adoption business because they won’t agree to that.

4) Coming to America unwanted is a national security issue. National security is one thing I don’t have a problem with government handling.

I guess what I’m saying is, the libertarians are wrong on a few issues not because I don’t believe in personal freedom, but because they misunderstand a few important issues, like a child has a right not be torn out of the womb. And it seems government continually comes down on the side of forcing people to do morally wrong things.

Before libertarian views took hold in the 1960s, America was very conservative, abortion, open borders, the homosexual agenda, easy divorce, all the leftist moral decay, destruction of family, culture, standards, and so on are a liberal/libertarian success story, recognize it and don’t confuse libertarians with conservatives.
