Wikipedia is fairly o.k. on non-controversial stuff.
It says 1,260,660 Catholics, largest religious group in MN, 28%. Cites sources but I haven’t checked them.
800K seems low to me. Maybe His Excellency means folks who actually belong to a parish and show up for Mass. That number could be lower than self-identifying CINOs.
MN has a total population of around 5,270,000, so 28% of the population of MN would be close to 1,500,000 persons. 28% sounds about right to me, since MN must be more Catholic than the nation as a whole. Don’t know why Wikipedia would say that the Catholic pop in MN would be 1,260,660, or 28%, since it can’t be both.
In any event, I’m glad to hear that Archbishop Nienstedt is reminding MN Catholics of the scientific truth that life begins at conception, the moral truth that abortion is the intentional taking of an innocent human life, and the spiritual truth that to support abortion is to engage in the sin of scandal that disqualifies one from taking Communion.
