This week, the Senate will vote on an amendment to attach the DREAM Act to the Department of Defense appropriations bill. The DREAM Act gives undocumented persons who were brought to America as children a path to citizenship if they complete two years of college or military service.
This is a winnable fight. Six Republican Senators are either co-sponsors of the DREAM Act or have voted for it in the past. Join with Daily Kos and SEIU to call your Senators, asking them to support passage of the DREAM Act amendment:

Anti-immigrant forces are lighting up Senate phone lines in huge numbers. We have to engage the fight. All Senators, no matter whether they are supporters, opponents, or swing votes, need to hear from constituents who support the DREAM Act.
You can improve people's lives by helping pass the DREAM Act. We will provide you with contact information and talking points. All you have to do is call.
Make a call now. The fight is unfolding as you read this email.

The republic is dead.

The $EIU is already seeing those $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ $igns from this one.

I wasn’t aware that illegals could enlist in the military of the U.S. I have two stepsons who are Russian nationals. Both are in the U.S. Army (one a Combat Medic in Iraq). They had to have a Green Card to prove legal residency before they could enlist. They can already apply for a cost-free U.S. citizenship without the DREAM nightmare.
Looks like these words have been added for the stupid public to get sympathy as well as votes.
I think having DADT repeal may actually help kill the DREAM act because there will be no consensus.
Brown a No? You’re joking.
I’m expecting McCain as a Yes. The man’s a snake.
This will leave a mark.
I think we’re living through one of those periods where you can literally watch an empire crumble around you.
It also might be an interesting time where you can not only see an empire crumble, but also Western civilization might be dying as well.
Fun times ahead, yo.
I saw their stupid talking points from lots of libs on Lisa Murkowski’s Facebook Wall when I got on to admonish her about her write-in campaign. They all use the same wording.
If Richard Lugar were in the Senate in the 1950s, he would be under Federal investigation as a possible communist infiltrator.
When I was in the Navy back in the early 70’s Phillipinos could join without being a resident. They could join in Manila. And it seemed most of them were Stewards.
Problem is they are separate amendments
If they were brought here a children then they had no choice or culpability in or for their current immigration status. If they want to get legal by serving this country I have no problem with that.
When I was in the Army (wayyyyyy back when) there were several soldiers who were not citizens but were looking forward to getting citizenship at the end of their enlistment. I always thought this was a very honorable path to citizenship.
If it passes, 3 million illegal aliens will get amnesty and it will be a big boost for the Dems and their Latino supporters.
Why is it their emails always sound so gay? I hear air leaking out of a tire somewhere.
Immigrants do not need the dream act to join the military. This is just another ploy to give criminals American citizenship.
