Do we stand with Japan? And would this be a good time, to start that trade war?
I go with "b".
gotta hit them in the wallet.
I think the entire incident was a Chinese provocation to test the Kan administration. Neither side can back down at this point.
Let them work out their so called historical differences.
If it comes down to it, we’re rather bound by the US/Japan defense/security agreements and treaties of 1949, 1951 and 1954 to take Japan’s side.
They’re not allowed to have a standing army aside from homeland defense capabilities on the premise that the US would provide security for them in international conflicts.
That Idiot in the White House is REALLY screwing up foreign policy, ISN’T he????
We are perceived as less than a third rate power under that moron and our allies, Japan,Israel, etc, will pay the price.
I’m with China - drill baby drill. Japan’s socialism and anti-capitalistic moves of the past 20 years have reduced its moral authority in every arena. We owe them nothing, they need to adjust to the new Asia. Given a choice between an Obama America/Japan and China, all I can say is “Please pass the Rosetta Stone, Mandarin edition.”
I despise china and all on FR that support her... evil and communist... that is all one should need to know. **** china!

“B” Screw Japan
No one cares about the islands. The natural gas under the ocean floor around them, however, means a lot to many. Taiwan also claims the islands but that doesn't mean much since China claims Taiwan.
Will Japan become the #2 country to be nuked?
I'll be surprised if Japan doesn't back down.
One more in atmosphere A-bomb test may be necessary. Anyone have a small island they want to get rid of?
Should we stand with Japan? Yes. Will we stand with Japan? That's anyones guess.
