The press conference with African-American surrogates for Andrew Cuomo slamming Carl Paladino's racist emails at City Hall last week was missing, as a few readers pointed out, one of the state's (and country's) most influential black leaders - the Rev. Al Sharpton. It's possible Sharpton was out of town, although his name wasn't on the press release. Sharpton has yet to say who he's backing in the governor's race (I've asked his spokeswoman). If Sharpton hasn’t endorsed anyone , it is probably because the check hasn’t cleared yet.

Maybe he’s still resting up *from* the anti 8/28 rally, and resting up *for* the 10/2 rally.
Whipping up a crowd with all that racist frenzy takes a lot out of someone, and heaven knows Rev. Al has more milage on him than during his “slap the donkey” days.
