Stilp said he believes he was among those monitored, based on Rendell's comment that a 25-foot inflatable "pink pig" Stilp takes to rallies was included in the monitoring.

"The pig! They were after the pig," Rendell said Tuesday. "That pig is what makes Harrisburg a very special place."

Stilp owns the pig and frequently displays it at the Capitol at protests over what he sees as government excesses.

That was the (not so)long term goal of Homeland Security from the beginning, to classify those who disagree with the gov’t as “terrorists”. Things are moving quickly.

Yes, fascism is moving rapidly.

But the idiots who run the farm, must be escapees from the asylum.

So that massive new domestic spy agency that Bush created, and that some of us here had a problem with lest it be used like some sort of KGB by a not-so-friendly incoming administration is being used to harass and intimidate political dissenters.

Who could have possibly seen this coming? /s

I agree with the potential abuse. And shared your concern when it was formed during W’s era.

But so far they have been run like the Keystone Cops. I do not feel that will improve.

Never assume that incompetents are not dangerous, look at the ATF as an example. These people have an enormous amount of resources and very powerful (and unconstitutional) laws that could make your life an absolute hell if they so choose.

Okay, so let me get this straight, we have an unelected group that can add names to a watch list that deprives people of their Constitutional rights.

Constitutional rights like the right to self-defense?

Don't the oppressive democrats want to ban anyone on these “Lists” to be denied the right to buy a firearm?

Isn't it also true that these “Lists” are secret and you don't know if you're on the list and you can't get off once you're on?

Does anybody see how this could be a problem?

Yup, naked fascism. If the government is going to keep files on someone, they should keep files on those who are obsessed with squashing our rights to free assembly, not people exercising those rights.

Thanks, just did not think about that. It is a logical addition.

You’re welcome, I was going to post this myself if no one else had done so.

This exactly the type of instance I thought of when they were discussing that hideous lautenberg amendment.

Kind of makes you wonder if the oppressives have been translating old KGB files, fishing for good idea on how to control the populace.
