Sources at the Christine ODonnell victory party revealed to The Freedomist that in December of last year Karl Rove met with Tea Party leaders in Dover, Delaware trying to get them to cut a deal in which they would leave Mike Castle alone and NOT support ODonnell.
The Freedomist has also learned that Rove was allegedly acting as an operative, although in what capacity it is not known, even as he is playing the role of a political analyst on Fox New in a fair and balanced way.

Say goodnight Carl.
Rove just fell of my list of people I respect.
Yep he was a bitter old man on Hannity, screw him, and the rest of the GOP get along RINO crowd.
he has sucked since 2004 when he started supporting all the liberal bush spending......
idiot thinks the tea party has leaders
Angle would have to be comprehensive immigration reform, I’d bet, since Hispanic enrollment as republicans was the altar Rove was willing to sacrifice the Bush presidency on. He figured Castle a “yea.”
Karl Rove just vociferously proved that he is much less relevant than he used to be - much less than he thinks he is - and clearly doesn’t understand the latest significant wave of American Electoral Politics.
Ta ta, Karl. You’ll be running at a disadvantage from now on. You’re damaged goods.
These damned establishment Republicans have got to go. Yesterday, Rush seemed like he was about fed up with these “status quo” types.
I think they’re like pro wrestlers: “You win at the match at Springfield tonight, but next Tuesday at Columbus, I get to win”. There’s no other way to explain candidates like Dukakis and McCain.
That was all well and good until the country hit the wall and elected a Marxist.
His political prowess is to be respected, but his values most likely aren't in line with yours. He and the frat boy socialist, along with Cheney, are one world government people. You'll rest better knowing that.
Rove killed Bush’s presidency. F him.
“idiot thinks the tea party has leaders”
My first thought too.
WHAT leaders?!
Not trying to defend Rove, but there are quite a few establishment types, like Dick Armey, who are trying to hijack the Tea Party......
Maybe all those people who said Karl Rove was bad news years ago weren’t just kooks or crazy.
NAaah, you’re still a kook or crazy if you dissent from the “R-good, D-baaaad” group-think at FReeRepublic.
There’s a lot I like about Karl Rove, but I don’t kid myself: he is not so much conservative as he is for power preservation of the inside-the-beltway old guard GOP.
In other words, principle ALWAYS takes a back seat to getting a win for a warm body with an R by his name.
Political calculus uber alles.
As I have paid more attention the last couple years, I have identified more and more of these folks locally.
They are large in number still, but their power is on the wane.
I have lost all respect for him.
How could they say Castle would have won a general election? What makes them think the Tea Party people wouldn’t have just stayed home? Or gone third party?
I am NOT a fan of third party candidacies. Which is exactly why I would not vote Republican if they keep marginalizing true conservatives. If they keep saying they don’t want the votes of conservatives, the votes will have to go elsewhere. I hope the Republican establishment starts listening.
Make no mistake: the Republican establishment sees the Tea Party - the people - as more of a threat to them than even the Democrats do.

Karl Rove was dead to me when he sat on his a$$ while W was being attacked for 8 years.
And this is EXACTLY the kind of crap that gave birth to the Tea Party in the first place!
Now that their motivations have been revealed and are on full display for all to see with any luck those in the "group" will see what establishment, country clubber Republicans are all about and why they must go!
Country Club Republicans gone wild!! Club Fed being invaded by true believers! OH NOOOOOO!
SOMEBODY was paying Rove.
He does this for a living.
FOLLOW THE MONEY
Now Rove has to PROVE he is the “magnificent bastard” by help the tea party candidates across the line.
Think money people, we talk about soros for them. Who is paying Rove?
Rove is greedy. There is more money to be had in consulting fees from the establishment republicans than Tea Party candidates.
Character can be purchased.
kkkarl rove has less cred than james carville... I mean james onion head carville!... hell... kkkarl is righ there with paul the forehead begala.
LLS
These establishment republicans are the reason that we've got the commies in charge right now. Voter apathy was as much a factor as voter fraud in putting Obama and several other democRATS in office in 2008. When there's nothing worth voting for, people stay home. And with the RINO McCain vs the Kenyan Obambi as the main attractions, many conservatives stayed home.
I recall prior to the election, the MSM trying to sell (yes, sell - that's all they do now) the idea that the era of Reagan was over. I remember being PO'ed when I read it, and I remember arguing with my liberal brother-in-law about that issue.
Rove just jumped the shark. This proves that he, and the country-club republican leadership, have absolutely no respect for conservative people. They need to be rooted out of the party and replaced with conservatives. They are as much the enemy of our constitutional republic as the commies on the left.
“Character can be purchased.” EDIT: Character can be sacrificed for a price.
Rove has joined Soros’ anti-Tea Party efforts. Agree, FOLLOW THE MONEY.
Say goodbye to your popularity, Karl.
My first guess? RNC.
Nail, meet Hammer.
he always been, he advised bush not to fight back during his term
he always been, he advised bush not to fight back during his term
Remove the emotion from the discussion, politics is a science and the numbers were there for Castle but not O’Donnell. It will get closer, but the best chance they had to get the symbolic Biden seat was with Castle. Not saying that O’Donnell can’t win, just that the stats, numbers and trends are not in her favor. These people play the numbers game for a living and the numbers can’t lie.
Placing emotion in the discussion, we need to rid the party of moonbats like Castle, Snowe and Collins but the entire majority will be made up of people that have varying points of view, it’ll be up to the majority leader to pull everyone in line.
How much has Newscorp and Murdoch paid to Rove? I also suspect Murdoch has given his employees marching orders regarding the eligibility issue.
This says tons about where the Bush admin had us directed.
Just another Progressive NWO Globalist.
“Placing emotion in the discussion, we need to rid the party of moonbats like Castle, Snowe and Collins but the entire majority will be made up of people that have varying points of view, itll be up to the majority leader to pull everyone in line.”
To attribute this viewpoint to mere “emotion” is wrong, I think. I fully realize that by voting our “emotions” we’ve kicked out a sure-to-win RINO with a less-sure-to-win conservative. It’s a chance I’m willing to take, because I consider it a win if the conservative wins, but also a win if the Democrat wins and we get the RINO out of office. That’s not emotion speaking to me, it’s logic. We need to get the RINOs out of office and out of our party. That pathetic candidate we had for President last time around taught me THAT.
No, the first thing you do is to symbolically shoot the traitors. Liberal R's still vote with D's. You cull the herd and the other with wobbly knees get the message they might be next. That is how you get the votes you want. Votes are what matter.
Don't forget Bob Dole. I am so sick of these "it's their turn" Presidential campaigns.
Ping-a-ling
Maybe this is one of the reasons Rove was being such a jerk on Hannity last night???
FReeRepublic has been letting me down and not providing me with the amount of entertainment I desire. Thus, I must say:
You hate America First and probably want to have homosexual relations with Osama bin Laden and his goat!
Probably SOROS.
Rove has been a cancer on the GOP for some time now. He needs to be radiated.
Karl Rove was dead to me when he sat on his a$$ while W was being attacked for 8 years.
Exactly. His “new tone” politics was as stupid a political strategy as I’ve ever seen. Bush’s popularity fell through the floor because of Rove’s mistaken idea that everyone will love and respect W if they let ridiculous attacks go unanswered. We can thank Rove for Zero and his huge democrat majorities. Rove can go to h*ell as far as I’m concerned.
If that was what Karl Rove kept it to - a discussion of the numbers - that would have been fine. But he didn't. He went on the attack personally and viciously. He lost me with this one.
“Remove the emotion from the discussion...”
Thanks for your comments. The Tea-Party has the ball, time to run with it.
Good Tea Party moves -
- Marco Rubio, excellent candidate
- Joe Miller, excellent candidate
- Mike Lee - in Utah we should run the most conservative person we can find period.
Risky Tea Party moves
- Sharron Angle - was at a fundraiser she did in NYC, she was underwhelming to say the least
- Christine O’Donnell...
The Tea Party’s future hangs in the balance of the Nevada and Delaware elections.
Just left him a note expressing my disappointment to learn he is a “ruling class republican” with obvious contempt for ordinary americans and who has no principles except raw power.
After I submitted there was a pop up ad for his book. Hmm don’t think so Karl.
Numbers may not lie, but numbers do change and with a little concerted effort
her numbers will change for the better! We are dealing in points in time.
