hugh is a malaprop for huge.

series is a malaprop for serious.

so when people get in a hurry to post what they think is a really huge and serious item, and commit a typo, OR people just want to mock the importance of a post, they talk about the issue being hugh and series.

Thus F-15s flying over Stamford (and might be going to the US Open finale) is a hugh and series happening!
