SHOOTING STRAIGHT on Gays

Marine General Goes on Record With Concerns About Outing

Perhaps it’s a stretch to say it could lead to a defeat from within some day. But if you listen to the recent statement put forth by a high-ranking Marine Corps official, repealing the “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy prohibiting openly gay individuals from serving in the military has some undeniable risks.

Standing before the press, Marine Commandant General James Conway (pictured) candidly laid out his concerns. In so many words (see the link below), he indicated that potentially having an openly gay soldier bunking with another soldier who, by religious faith, cannot accept homosexuality, threatens to undermine the bonding effect among troops that is a vital intangible in combat.

Gordon James Klingenschmitt is a former chaplain in the U.S. Navy, offering a unique depth of understanding about the religious dynamics of the military.

“As a former Navy Chaplain who has had to counsel soldiers in confidence, I know firsthand the dangers of allowing any kind of sexual immorality to run rampant among the troops. My organization (at www.prayinjesusname.org/) has gathered petitions and sent over 130,000 faxes to Congress, directing them to keep ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell,’ and stop open homosexual aggression from hurting our troops. It will cost lives in war.”

Bob Beauprez is a former Colorado Congressman (R), now political commentator, who, like many Americans, is desperate to see common sense override political correctness—especially in the one-of-a-kind, no-nonsense environment that is military defense.

“If, in fact, the corps is going to be forced to accept openly gay troops, then the rights, values and beliefs of all the troops should be respected. Conway doubtlessly understands how volatile the comradery is among soldiers, sailors and marines, particularly in battle conditions. He’s looking for a way, as he should be, to minimize the potential for internal conflict. Our military has been forced to accept too many political directives that don’t make sense on the battlefield. This should not be another one of the same mistakes. And Conway owes it to our soldiers to speak his mind on this publicly.”

If as a society we accept that segregation of men and women in facilities for showering, bunking, etc... is wise based upon respect of people’s rights in regards to possible heterosexual behavior then we should also have that same right to not be put in these situations with someone who is openly professing a perversion for the same gender.

If they want equality then we all should have the right to not be put into such a situation with a person expressing such a perversion.

If they go this way.. and all signs look as if this is the case... then you can expect HUNDREDS more events like the homo who leaked our secrets to the wikileaks. And the homo who sabotaged the USS Iowa. Once they get to come out, expect a “gays gone wild” circus for years. Also expect that 1/3 of those now serving, the most honorable, to resign or not to reup. The military will have 25% open homos within 3 years of said policy and will be weaker than the French army.

So in order to give “first amendment rights” to gays in the military we have to strip the first amendment rights from everyone else in the military?

Exactly. The left-wing is seeking to create massive double-standards and violate the rights of the majority of those serving.

Then, instead of bombing the Hell out of the enemy, we’ll go in and redecorate. A throw pillow here, a grenade there...

It might be wise but the truth is we, as a society, do not do that. We don't segregate shower facilities for gays and straights at high schools, public pools, or gymnasiums. We don't segregate gay and straight housing at universities, youth camps, or law enforcement academy barracks. The military is the only segment of society where this is allegedly a concern, and most of that concern comes from outside the military.

My kid got his butt grabbed in the shower in basic by a gay. He decked him. The DI looked the other way. What happens now?

“The West's Judeo-Christian heritage and foundation have largely been supplanted by a libertarian ideology that elevates human freedom and self-determination as the supreme principles for human relationships. In their confusion, many hail the decline of the biblical-traditional model of marriage and the family and its replacement by new competing moralities as major progress.”

- A. Kostenserger. God, Marriage and Family: Rebuilding the Biblical Foundations (pg26).

There is a reason why we have arrived at this place of moral decline. Enough said.

Both lists. The US military, if weakened and demoralized which will certainly happen with open homosexuals allowed in, affects each and every one of us. Lately I've read comments by (idiots) on FR saying "there is no "gay" agenda" or "they don't affect me". Well, a weakened and demoralized military will indeed affect each and every one of us.

And on this day in particular, we should consider this deeply, and the debt we owe to our military men and women.

“As a former Navy Chaplain who has had to counsel soldiers in confidence, I know firsthand the dangers of allowing any kind of sexual immorality to run rampant among the troops. Says it all. (btw, comp still up, not sure for how long...)

rewind to a 1970s or early 1980s SNL with Garrett Morris as a marine, cruising for gays.....

it was put out like a commercial for the Marine Corp and in the end was the logo: “The Marines are Looking For a Few Good Men”..

Actually funny for its time, it is now just another horrific, prophetic microcosm of the zer0bama administration...err regime.

Nonsense. If you read at all on FR about this, many, many, MANY active and retired military have voiced great concern about this. The great majority of men and women in the military do not want open homoesexuals serving with them. The non-open ones are bad enough.

DADT shouild be repealed, back to the standard of “Ask, and if the answer is wrong, out the door they go”.

The military is not a place for mentally ill sexual perverts.

The DI had been Special Forces and was only filling in as a DI. He had the respect of most of the recruits. They trusted him. Explicitly.

The military culture has, since it was founded, spent a great deal of time and effort to separate sex from the military morality. Anyone caught in sexual activity is automatically punished. It's been like that for 220 years in the Military. Officers who use their authority to gain sexual favors are instantly eliminated. These are man who LITERALLY have the power of life and death. And you want to scrap the ENTIRE system so a bunch of peter puffers can "serve"? How does the sudden, deliberate attack of perverted morality support our national defence?

Would you care to explain how someone who will deliberately advertise themselves as morally corrupt be an asset to the military culture? Since these cupcakes want to be identified by their sexual behavior, would you care to describe whay they actually DO to each other, or any other hole they can find? Are we now going to officially authorize Glory Holes in barracks latrines? Will "lovers" now be given special permission to room together, as long as they are the same gender, rather like hubands and wives in the same unit? (Oh, wait, that doesn't happen...)

These sick, slimey sexual cripples want to destroy the last bastion of actual nationalism and patriotism in the United States, and YOU think it's bigoted to deny them the chance.

You people are EVIL!

General George Washington disagrees.

The Writings of George Washington from the Original Manuscript Sources, 1745-1799. John C. Fitzpatrick, Editor.

At a General Court Martial whereof Colo. Tupper was President (10th March 1778) Lieutt. Enslin28 of Colo. Malcom's Regiment tried for attempting to commit sodomy, with John Monhort a soldier; Secondly, For Perjury in swearing to false Accounts, found guilty of the charges exhibited against him, being breaches of 5th. Article 18th. Section of the Articles of War and do sentence him to be dismiss'd the service with Infamy. His Excellency the Commander in Chief approves the sentence and with Abhorrence and Detestation of such Infamous Crimes orders Lieutt. Enslin to be drummed out of Camp tomorrow morning by all the Drummers and Fifers in the [Note 28: Lieut. Frederick Gotthold Enslin.] Army never to return; The Drummers and Fifers to attend on the Grand Parade at Guard mounting for that Purpose.

I wish.... try this: Instead of bombing the hell out of other countries, they will become the enforcement arm of New Though and Crime Speak and will drag YOUR children out their beds in the middle of the night.

And do it with FLAIR !! ZAP !!

We did that Under Bush, actually. Chaplains can no longer end a prayer with "In Jesus name, Amen". The can only say "In his, (whoever he might be) name, Amen."
