Anthony Shaffer, the author of a new Afghanistan war memoir, figures on selling 10,000 copies of his book before it has even been released. The buyer would be the Pentagon, which objects to some of the material in the book and has offered to buy the entire first print run to keep it out of circulation.

Keep it up Colonel. Expose the Clintons for their neglect and treason against the American people. Our inaction after numerous attacks by Al-Qaeda in the 90's is what brought on 9/11. Able Danger all the way. HOOAH.

Flood Amazon with order requests. Put yourself on the list to notify you when it is "back in stock", or when it is taken off the "hold shipment" list by Big Sis, Soros, or the 5-sided place.

If the confiscate it, and he won’t be able to sell it in the US, he can always go publish it in Europe. Or, if he doesn’t care about the money, he can send it to wikileaks :D

If they want to be seen as non-partisan watchdogs, they’ll have to publish it, otherwise they’ll expose themselves as subversive lackeys.

"Shaffer identified by name some of the U.S. intelligence officers with whom he was working and described some clandestine operations with which he was involved."

If this is true, why are people getting all giddy about this guy?

Just a couple months ago we were jumping down the throat of the Wikileaks traitor for...naming names of intelligence contacts.

For me, the jury's out on whether this guy's is righteous. But right now, it's not looking good.

It’s my guess that the government doesn’t want this out prior to the election because it will shed bad light on the democrats. They can’t stop him from publishing it because he has the first amendment right to do so. But they think that if they buy the first 10,000 copies (the first run), the second batch won’t be available in time to influence peoples’ opinions.

Maybe he should publish the controversial excerpt on the internet so that all can download it.

Intelligence operatives must agree to “obtain permission to publish” from the feds prior to even gaining access to classified information.

The DIA or CIA has to sign off on books, and I would be interested in how they handle “bloggers”, when the author is recounting activities related to classified operations and operatives.
At one time, I was restricted from publishing anything about my activities (without DIA consent) untill 20 years after my death.
I believe the newer contracts have less stringent time frames, but they still would certainly require DIA/CIA overview for minimum of 10 years after the “action”.

The feds can't legally stop Mr. Wikileaker.
They can, and should IMHO, punish the original “source” to the fullest extent of the UCMJ. Which does include execution.

ebay canceling orders ....

“When I listed this book, I didn’t know the book was recalled due to security reasons; therefore, the information supplied in the item description pertains to the original edition and not the new edition. According to the publisher, the new edition will be released on 9/24 but several pages will be blacked out due to censorship. Furthermore, Ebay has advised me to cancel the orders at this time”

“I would be interested in how they handle “bloggers”, “

I think its publication of anything potentially sensitive that qualifies. I still have 60 years left on mine.
