Your extrapolation of the government's assumed right to control commerce via the interstate commerce clause to include all forms of commerce, even that which has no 'interstate' origin stretches your point a bit too far.

They cannot take what they do not have record of unless fools willing comply. The only way they can get them all is to search house-to-house, and even then they wouldn't get them all.
