That probably is not the best answer. The mother should have put him in his room, and then appear to ignore him. A child ignored while having a tantrum will soon stop if no one is around giving him an audience. She should have put him in his room and monitored from a place he could not see her, just to make sure he isn’t hurting himself. They soon stop. That also in most cases, stops the behavior right away, if not within a few more episodes of tantrums where the same plan is followed. Kids do it for attention. No attention, no tantrums.

That’s possible too ... but I believe in spanking. It seeds up self control and culivates respect for authority. I didn’t do the sit in the cornor or go to your room stuff. They told me later they thought it was silly! Yes, an honest kid will tell you! They told me fear of REAL punishment helped them grow up.

Often kids sent to their rooms, read, play games and don’t see it as punishment. It’s stupid.
