A recent Department of Justice guide for investigators of criminal and extremist groups lists “constitutionalists” and “survivalists” alongside organizations like Al-Qaeda and the Aryan Brotherhood. The 120-page, “Law Enforcement Sensitive” guide to “Investigating Terrorism and Criminal Extremism – Terms and Concepts” describes itself as “a glossary designed primarily as a tool for criminal justice professionals to enhance their understanding of words relating to extremist terminology, phrases, activities, symbols, organizations, and selected names that they may encounter while conducting criminal investigations or prosecutions of members of extremist organizations.”

Constitutionalist, defined by Random House’s 2010 Dictionary as an “adherent or advocate of constitutionalism or of an existing constitution”, is described in the report as a “generic term for members of the ‘patriot’ movement”

To a communist a constitution supporter would be a very dangerous extremeist.

These are people with guns who, if they vote, don’t vote for Gun Grabbers and are therefore the enemy.

“constitutionalists” and “survivalists”

So the U.S. military is considered an extremist group? Has anyone told them?

I have to agree on one thing, though. Those Amish buggy bombs have killed thousands - or so I've heard.

Isn’t the DOJ overstepping it’s jurisdiction just a bit?

With respect to DOJ/FBI/DHS/ATF (and others), they have all been corrupted and are part of the Obama regime. Accordingly, they are the enemy of loyal American patriots who believe in and will defend the Constitution of the United States.

The LA Times reminds us of earthquake preparedness from time to time. Part of the advice was to store food and water, the usual stuff.

Then every now and then they’d report on the bust of “a survivalist” who had a cache of food and water, and a weapon. Sometimes a hoard of weapons, with an arsenal of ammo.

Survivalists are dangerous- they can make it without government help, and may even RESIST government efforts to help!

I think some future Department of Justice should list anyone who served as an appointee under this Department of Justice on a list of potential extremists and saboteurs.

To categorize constitutionalism as extremism, when done by a government agency in a Constitutional republic, is far worse than merely extremism—it's treason!

Any GOA members here? Comments?

From the U.S. Department of Justice document cited above...

“Gun Owners of AmerIca (GOA): An extremely radical gun-
owning group with close ties to the militia movement. It
reputedly has about 100,000 members (as opposed to the
millions of NRA members). GOA is headed by Larry Pratt, a
strong militia supporter who also has close ties to the white-
supremacist movement.”
