"...nothing ever crossed my desk..."

There's some parsing.

From the article:

"A Republican aide familiar with the planning for the event, however, insisted that Kyl invited Hayworth and Hayworth declined."

Sadly, I do believe it is possible Hayworth wasn’t invited. John McCain is the darling of the Republican party - which explains where the tea party originated. The Republicans need to clean house nearly as much as the Dems and, while John McCain kept carrying on about “reaching out to our friends across the isle,” when running against a Dem, he suddenly fought back hard and long against a Republican opponent who, from what I could tell, represented a better bet for our interests than McCain ever will. It won’t be long before McCain turns right back into the RINO he has been for a long, long time. We will get what we deserve by sending him back to Washington.

I wouldn’t want to go watch Arizona’s shame, McCain.

How long before McCain swings wildly left again?

Hang in there JD... perhaps another time will be more favorable to you. If McLame stays true right you have accomplished much and if he turns left then shame on his Arizona voters.

Are you serious? Are you really going to keep posting about this race every day? Tell me, after the Jim Demint-backed Lindsey Grahamnesty won his Senate primary, did they invite the loser to a “unity” party?

Post-primary Hayworth has been acting like a teen aged boy whose dream girl is attending the prom with another boy.
Not surprising that no conservatives, (DeMint, Bachmann especially), bothered to campaign on his behalf.

I’m not the least bit impressed with Arizona Republicans. Not sure any of them can be trusted, including Kyl and Brewer. And we don’t even have to mention McCain.

Does anyone even know where Brewer stands on pathways to citizenship for illegals?

And we know Kyl opposed that in 2006, and ran against it in 2006 for reelection, then was a big amnesty pusher in 2007 after winning another term.

Not a group to be trusted. JD is by far the best of those Republicans, and they all turned against him, even though he’d always actively supported the policies they claim to support far more than any of them.

So were any local Tea Party leaders invited, or the GOP isn't interested in that kind of "unity??"

Two-and-a-half weeks ago you said that you were going to contact Sharron Angle's campaign for an official statement about her "rallying for JD Hayworth" in Arizona near the Mexican border on August 15.

I missed all your subsequent posts about that. What did they say?

How did McQueeg win? Are all the geriatrics in Arizona drinking the kool aid? Or is Arizona ceding to Mexico?

I’ve lost all respect for Arizona’s RINO Republicans. If the voters of Arizona cannot see the damage that John McCain has inflicted on the entire country - then they are part of the problem too. I know there were a lot of good conservatives that voted for Hayworth, but it wasn’t enough to overcome McCain’s huge money chest and dispicable negative advertising (which he refused to use on Obama).

I really think John McCain is one of the most evil politicians in office right now. Listening to him makes me physically ill.

Someone should start a venture of people betting on how long it will take Juan to stab Republicans and conservatives in the back again. I give him one month after winning the primary in November - if that long.

Anyone that believes this sorry little man has changed - should be committed.

We've got one of these "Republican Unity Events" coming up next month here in Grand Junction. Two questions:
  1. If there were any unity, would it occur to anyone to hold a "unity event"?
  2. Assuming there is no unity, is a unity event the solution?

Hayworth was a godawful candidate. He had been defeated for the House, and then did those cringeworthy infomercials for a fraudster. I wonder if Russell Pearce could have won.
