Surviving the Tea Partys takeover of the GOP: One of the more profound changes in American politics is how much more conservative the nominees inside the Republican Party have become. The Tea Party and Jim DeMint are now closer to the representing the center of the GOP, not George W. Bush and his compassionate conservatism. This has presented longtime Republican moderates/centrists with a dilemma of what to do, and weve seen three different responses so far, which were on display in some form this past Tuesday. One path was demonstrated by John McCain, who decided to shift his positions (on immigration, Supreme Court judges) just enough to the right. He easily won his primary on Tuesday. A second response was exemplified by Lisa Murkowski, who essentially stayed as she was. She appears headed for a defeat in the too-close-to-call GOP Senate primary in Alaska. And a third trail was blazed by Charlie Crist, who decided to leave his party. Hes currently engaged in Floridas three-way Senate contest. Who charted the right course?

Under "Moderate" leadership the GOP went from a Majority to be a complete minority facing a Democrat party with a super majority in Congress and control of the White House.
Here are what the question should be.
Can the GOP survive unless the Tea Party takes it over?
Then another question MSNBC should be asking itself,
Can the Democrats, who face the real probability of historic losses in the upcoming Midterm election survive Barack Obama?
You have to wonder who could watch the MSNBC lunatics.
How about Surviving the Shrieking Moonbat Takeover of the MSM?
Thanks for your great advice MSNBC.
The republicans love taking advice from liberals
I am sure both your listeners do too
I’m not sure why, but whenever I see Todd on TV, I think he must be running around with a racing stripe in his drawers all the time. Maybe that’s why he is so disagreeable.
I would be happy if the RINOS, DihminiCRAPS, and the LameStreamMedia went the way of the DoDo Birds.
The leftists have been so used to the “go along, get along” GOP blue bloods they are now panicking about true conservatives asserting themselves.
Thus, we have these strident and backhanded attacks against conservatives by the leftist media trying to whip the GOP back into line as the lap dogs to the Dims.
I never thought Id say this but I kinda like MSNBC, I have never laughed so hard the last couple of weeks or so. Its like the comedy channel.
As someone wisely put over at Americans For Prosperity said:
“Well the GOP doesn’t seem to know what to do with the Party, we might as well borrow it”
But he left a trail of breadcrumbs so he can find his way back to his "friends across the aisle".
Must be nice to be able to change your mind at will, just in order to make another (ridiculous) argument. It's a sure sign that the left doesn't feel the need to adhere to any constant standards whatever.
MSNBC: Comedy Channel for the politically astute.
Meanwhile back at the commune...... The Democrat Party has never been more leftist, socialist, communist, and radical. Not to mention, much further from the average American than any Tea Party candidate.
You forgot the [Hurl Alert!]
Is Alvin Greene the voice of the Democrat party? Some say, Yes. While others say, Absolutely.
Tea Party is full of people who want less government in their lives and the right to hold on to their own money. They want the elected officials to stop spending money and passing laws that infringe upon their rights. The leftists simply cannot grasp this idea.
The criticism only reveals their fear.
Au contraire!! "Moderate" Republicans (why does Juan McVain come to mind?) can either return to their conservative roots, or they can join their "friends" on the left!!
It's NOT a dilemma, it's a choice. And, it's a much better choice than the leftists gave their "moderate" supporters!!
MNJohnnie,
I object to your snarky reference to “assorted clowns” — clowns never did anything malicious like what these Bozos (excuse me) jerks are doing. I’m probably being unfair to jerks, too but I’m not sure where to go to complete this thought.
