Double-dip recession talk will be heating up
NY Post ^ | August 18, 2010 | John Crudele

Double-dips are good for ballroom dancers and useful to economists.

The first is obvious. If you can execute an elegant dip or two during a tango it goes a long way toward obscuring flaws in the rest of your routine.

The same is true for double-dip recessions, which you will be hearing a lot more about over the next week.

It's hard to find an expert who correctly predicted the economy would be sinking again this summer. OK, this column did.

But my sources and I understood that much of the economic gains this past spring were an illusion caused by faulty seasonal adjustments.

So it was pretty easy to anticipate that business conditions would look worse once these adjustments corrected themselves.

Next Friday we'll get a correction that'll put the words "double-dip" back into the headlines.

That's when the Commerce Department will announce that the nation's gross domestic product didn't grow at the previously believed 2.4 percent annual rate during this year's second quarter.

As far as I've been able to tell in my area, we never came out of a recession enough to say we're dipping back into recession.

Barry better watch out, the stars are aligned in such a way that the democrat thugs may see things tip into a full blown depression even before the November elections and after spending trillions on ‘stimulus’ no one is going to believe “it's not my fault” from the Whiner in Chief or his party.

There was no recovery and things are a complete nighmare, I mean really..

It’s a horror situation in this democrat-run economy and the best that’ll happen is UI benefits that will be extended until it’s 99 weeks. Most thinkg 99 weeks is what is is, but it’s not unless you’re in the horrible program.

Democrats messed up ‘Keynesian economics’; government stimulus “might work” in a depression, not a recession;

http://online.wsj.com/article/SB123249646698200289.html

In normal recessions — the argument goes — an increase in discretionary government spending is unnecessary and even counterproductive. But in the event that a recession becomes a depression, a Keynesian stimulus package might work.

Stimulus bill Democrats are guilty of ‘Economic Malpractice’

Malpractice definition;

1. Improper or negligent treatment of a patient, as by a physician, resulting in injury, damage, or loss.

2. Improper or unethical conduct by the holder of a professional or official position.

“As far as I’ve been able to tell in my area, we never came out of a recession enough to say we’re dipping back into recession.”

I have been saying this for months.
The term “Double Dip” has been nothing but smoke and mirrors, and I want to scream every time I hear some media moron mention it.

We have NEVER come out of the original recession.
The government has only cooked the books and doctored the numbers in order to look like Obambie saved the day.. It is , and has been, pure BS.

Actually, it is far better for us if they call it a double dip, if we never recovered then it's easier to blame on Bush. If we recovered then the blame for the 2nd recession lies squarely on the Democrats and Obama.

‘....”double-dip” back into the headlines.’

You mean that “jobless recovery”, that “new norm” as unemployment stay under 10% as real unemployment climbs, that “double-dip” recession?

Indeed it is better for them to use that term. And we really need to grab hold of this from yesterday and run with it. White House: The Economy Is Lost

It was a huge admission of FAILURE by the White House, but it is being lost in the distraction over the Ground Zero Mosque. We always say to know what the other hand is doing. The mosque and 0bama's religion have dominated this board now for days.

Sorry, folks those are distractions! The real news here is the one being ignored. The admission of epic proportions failure on the economy. We are going to come to the real bottom in very short order.

If the admission of economic policy FAILURE doesn't frighten you, you have got to be in serious denial. Even the alternate reality White House is panicked.

I’m afraid the republicans will win in November and islamabama and the media will have two years of blaming them for everything. A lot of people were stupid enough to vote for him in 2008. They can be stupid again in 2012.

In the 80’s when I was in my 30’s it was tough finding a job. It’s going to be harder this time for those in that age group. It will be almost, if not surely, impossible for us older folks.

The best thing to do is start your own business and insulate yourself from the government as much as possible. Companies will not be able to afford employees.
