I'm having trouble linking to Weigel's Slate article.

If Gainor's description of Weigel's article is accurate, Weigel misses one more important point, in addition to the critical fact that no one on "the Right" in the US is suggesting anything at all comparable to a pogrom against Muslims in this country.

Pogroms under the czarist regime were by definition government instigated and approved. The violence went on while government officials turned a blind eye and sometimes even participated themselves. In the US today, "the Right" can't possibly promote and engage in heinous violence against Muslims that is government sanctioned, even hypothetically if it wished to, because "the Right" doesn't have any power within that government.

BTW, Weigel is well known here on FR for his constant taunting of those of us who maintain doubts that Barack Hussein Obama meets the constitutional qualifications for the presidency.

I think you're missing an important point too. There are some of us not afraid to call for restrictions on Islam and its adherents here. This is not because they have different habits from us or that they sometimes dress strangely. It is that their doctrine rejects our form of government and advocates violence against, and even death to, those who reject this doctrine.

I reject their doctrine. I have my own which is of longer standing than theirs. It says, if someone comes to kill you rise up and kill him first.

Weigal is simoly pureuing the phase that all fascists come too when they meet a valid opposition, they dehumanize that opposition in preparation of conducting themselves outside the law. or to perpetrate threats and violence.

This is a simple evolution of Liberal Fascism, as they continue to attempt to impose their ideology on our nation.

The proper reply to Time weigel which will be successful involves usung the techniques of ridicule, exposure and truth. These weapons were used very successfully against fascism by none other than Winston Churchill.

Using these approaches, the Wiggly Weigel and others of that ilk have no chance.
