CHICAGO (AP) -- A federal judge says he intends to declare a mistrial on the remaining counts in the political corruption trial of ex-Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich (blah-GOY'-uh-vich).

The jury found Blagojevich guilty of one count of lying to federal agents. There were 23 other counts against Blagojevich and four against his brother.

He can be re-tried on the deadlocked counts.

It’s Chicago...you cannot CONVICT a crooked politician in the Daley machine city.

One count of lying to federal agents? That’s a process crime.

Lets hope there is a better persecutor than Patrick Fits Gerald, and we see 0bama and his Chicago Operation dragged into the middle of the trial, where they belong.

He can, but the government will try to protect Imam Obama and Rahm the fruity ballerina again, and if they do, I expect he will remain unconvicted.

If I was on his jury, even though I do not like and have no use or respect for Blago, and I thought that the government was protecting others, I would nullify any guilty verdict against him.

Why does the phrase “jury tampering—Chicago-style” occur to me?

That’s it?

I’ve heard the standard Fitzie approach is to pile together several dozen charges against his victim so that the jury feels obliged to nail him on at least one. But if this is all I suspect there’s some serious backstage dealing going on.

Do you legal eagles out there think maybe one juror has been bribed and agreed to stick him with the lightest charge in the hope that he will get a wrist slap and not be retried on the others?

And that he won’t start singing about what he really knows?

Maybe the jurors felt they were being tossed a sacrificial lamb while the big fish swam away. That wouldn’t go over well with the average Jane or Joe.

The False Statements Act is a very serious statute; just ask Martha Stewart and, now, Blago. If you are ever in a position where you're being interviewed by FBI agents and can reasonably avoid giving the interview, do so unless it's massively in your inerest. If interviewed be incredibly cautous about what you say, giving as little information as possible. Also, remember constantly to preface nearly everything you say with the words, "To the best of my present recollection," or, "as far as I remember at this time."

So how much did it cost the Chicago Thug-o-crats to salt the juror pool with paid obstinate jurors who would never vote to convict thereby keeping the “important” people off of the witness list?

If Blago was serving his time in California, he’d be released before lunchtime..

You don’t get it ?

The now DC Chicago thug faction were purposely
skated around .... and it was clear the trial
facts were incomplete.

Fitzie orchestrated it all ..

WHY?

WHERE’S TONY REZKO ?

I certain the DNC must be thrilled with no resolution to this with the November elections a few months away.

I presume there was tooooo much Soetoro dirty laundry in the mix that they couldn’t white-wash and they didn’t dare to touch on. Tom Delay was acquitted after six years, hmmmm!!!

Seems to me that’s all Fitzgerald got out of Scooter Libby too.

Fitzgerald needs to retire (he won’t be fired).
