Yesterday I went to a SEIU protest oustide of the Padre Hotel in Bakersfield, CA. Inside, Meg Whitman, who is running for Governor of California against Jerry Brown, was having a fundraiser. The SEIU was out in full force handing out bullet points for when their members talked to the press, intimidating people who were attending the fundraiser, as well as customers of the Padre Hotel.
... A man leaving the Padre Hotel was confronted and accused of being a racist as he tried to get in his car. Before he got in his car, a protester actually said, "Yeah, go home and cuss at your kids and beat your wife, dumb @ss." When he was driving off the SEIU members rushed to the corner of the stop light and were shouting Jerry! Jerry! Jerry! and cheered as he drove away.

Jerry Brown and other Democrat leaders in California need to put a stop to this garbage. Apparently other groups (not SEIU) have done similar things. This all needs to stop. Enough of these angry mobs harassing and intimidating common citizens.

No one deserves this. You are putting the blame on the man who ran instead of where it belongs. That sort of mentality lets the thugs off of the hook. Jerry Brown and other Democrat leaders are to be on the hook for this, as they can put a stop to this - and should do so.

Lets not have any more deflection away from where the attention belongs - these thugs and those (Jerry Brown and other elected Democrats) - who can and should put a stop to this and other such mobbery.
I had to cross a UAW picket line long ago when I worked at Ford and they had pickets at the Engineering Center in Dearborn. They never threatened anyone that I know of, but we were required to show them our Ford ID if they asked.
On facing sides of my wallet, I had the ID, and bold-print, block-letters (so they could read it) suggestion that they perform an impossible act upon themselves.
They never seemed to like it, but that was back when I was into intimidation, and at 6’-4 and 220 lbs it just came natural to me.

The best thing is probably to always go in at least a group of two so one can film. Youtube and the internet is a great way to expose these immature criminals. If they attack you or your property you need to sue them, but do get them on film if you can.
Is there no such thing as self defense in CA?

The best time I ever had countering a protest was with an anti-Iraq war in 2002. I didn’t even know about it, but it was decently sized.
When I drove past it, I immediately decided to run into an Office Depot next to them and bought the largest white cardboard sheet and a fat black marker to simply write, “I’m With Stupid” with an arrow to my right. I then walked over to the liberals and simply stood there for the next hour or more.
They were polite about it, and one suggested that I should move over to the area for the “pro” protesters, but I told them that the sign wasn’t meant to show I had a position, but rather, that I was simply a guy with nothing in this on either side and that I effectively just wanted to play “anarchist” for a bit.

We should have a strategy to set them on their asses if they are making a habit of black shirt intimidation. Private, nasty looking security would be a worthwhile investment. Also plans to exit in groups. If we do not plan to offset this energy, we will get more of it and it will turn violent.
Some people will be afraid to participate if they are going to be confronted by these ugly people alone. That is why the black shirts are doing it. That is why they do it for Chavez and Fidel.

With today’s judges and lawyers...Holder??? I am afraid we are losing all our “rights”. They make so many rules, so what constitutes self-defense???? When are you “justified” to defend yourself. There are specific rules on when you MAY use deadly force.
I suppose they can find some excuse to lock you up if they don’t like your politics. I am afraid we are getting to that point. There is NO justice in our courts today. None. It is who has the most money wins.
Thank you ... In this particular fellow’s case, simply clearing the area was almost certainly the right move. He likely had no plan to deal with these creeps. As protesters, though, or even accidental bystanders, we need to plan for it.
