Sen. Durbin has stomach tumor removed

Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin of Illinois has had a stomach tumor removed and is recovering at the University of Chicago Medical Center.
Durbin's office said surgeons removed the small tumor on Thursday. Spokesman Joe Shoemaker said a preliminary biopsy showed no signs of cancer, although these kinds of tumors can be malignant.
A statement from Durbin's office said further treatment is not expected. It said the preliminary biopsy results "demonstrate a favorable prognosis" and Durbin should be able to resume a full schedule as early as next week.

Durbin spokesman Joseph Shoemaker struck an optimistic note about the surgery.
“This particular type of tumor is a rare form of stomach cancer, so it is cancer, yes,” he said in an interview.
But he added that the type of tumor that was discovered cannot be classified strictly as benign or malignant since they all have potential to become malignant.
“However, small ones such as Sen. Durbin’s can often be completely removed and the patient then runs a totally normal course,” he said.

I'll comment. Durbin should get the third world health care he is trying to impose upon the rest of us. Not a single Rep. or senator that voted for Bummercare should get first class treatment.

True enough. I'm praying that if it is God's Will for Dick Turban, errr, DURBIN, to recover, that if there is another tumor at some point in the future, that the nationwide 0bamaCare(c) System will meet the good Senator's needs in a timely and expeditious fashion.
[ Which means that we will be gathered together at that theoretical future point to offer prayers up for Durbin's family and loved ones after he leaves this mortal coil.]
