It would be interesting to compare the write-ups for Rostenkowski and for Ted Stevens. How prominent is the dirt in each? I expect that the MSM would portray Rostenkowski as a Titan who — oh, by the way — had some ethical lapses, while Stevens would be portrayed as a corrupt felon who — oh, by the way — happened to serve some time in Congress.

Was it Rostey who left Reagan holding the bag on TEFRA? Reagans deal that would allow a tax increase in return for a reduction in spending? For every dollar of tax increase they were to cut 1.83 in spending. They raised the taxes (and then blamed Reagan and never cut spending)
