The U.S. plans to sell advanced F-15 fighter jets to Saudi Arabia in a $30 billion, 10-year arms package.
The 84 Boeing Co. (BA) F-15s could help the Saudis deal with skirmishes with Yemeni rebels on the country's southern border, The Wall Street Journal said. The planes will have onboard targeting systems similar to those offered to other foreign governments, but will not be as sophisticated as the F-15s flown by the U.S. military.

The Saudis already have F-15s. During the 1991 Gulf War, Saudis shot down Iraqi aircraft using F-15s.

With thanks and credit to Brugmansian, it’s looking like all the LSM fuss about Michelle’s extravagant vacation in Spain, just might be a distraction to cover up a much more sinister reason for her trip.
Brugmansian uncovered the following article in EL MUNDO and the last paragraph is of specific importance.

Michelle Obama followed in the footsteps of Ernest Hemingway and Orson Welles when she paid a visit to Spain’s oldest bullring, the Plaza de Toros in Ronda, a picturesque town in the hills above the Costa del Sol.
The First Lady, her youngest daughter Sasha, and their group of friends left the Spanish coast and travelled to Ronda for a day of sightseeing accompanied by their vast security escort in a 13 car motorcade.

In 1988 Khashoggi was jailed in Switzerland for concealing funds but was acquitted two years later.Born in Mecca, Khashoggi was regarded as the world’s richest man in the 1980s and his yacht, the Nabila, was used in James Bond film Never Say Never Again.

Unlikely...but, if they did, they'd be nothing more than lawn ornaments. Without operator and maintenance training, test equipment, specialized tools, spare parts, munitions…and much more…you cannot operate these aircraft.
It is rather strange her meeting with Saudi big wigs that SUMMER there was not reported. They are our friends we just sold them fighter jets. WHY would it not be on the ininerary?
Why would she meet them when she was consoling her friend and spending time with Sasha closing down beaches. (In which I guess the villa resort pool was not good enough)
Until we start selling pilots I am not worried.

Hogwash. The only terrorist acts that the Saudis and the UAE type folks actually oppose are those acts against them and their power.
The Saudis and their UAE neighbors have been playing a one-sided game of “keeping your friends close and your real enemies (the west) closer” since the end of WWII.
Al Queda, the Taliban, the Wahabi, the Muslim Brotherhood are all close cousins in radical Islamic fundamentalism and while the west has been sold the myth that there is core and real distinction between them it is just that, a myth, intended for western ears.
The CIA did not “create” either Al Queda or the Taliban - though they helped the Pakistani ISI use them against the Soviets, but radical Islamic fundamentalism, vented in its source by the Wahabi and money from the Saudis and the Gulf states did.
And those sources continue as the primary financial conduits keeping the wheels of Al Queda and the Taliban, and all the radical madrassas and mosques (the indoctrination mills for the cannon fodder for terrorism) running.
The Saudis want F-15’s because they believe themselves to be in a power confrontation with their radical Shia Islamic fundamentalist cousins in Iran; a confrontation over the “true” leadership of Islam.
That is not a contest that the west has any stake in the outcome of - whether it be the Wahabi or the Iranian mullahs. As one might say: “we do not have a dog in that race”.
We should leave the Saudis to buy and develop their own “defense” which might even make them seek their own “nukes”, which might, thankfully, result in them and the Iranian mullahs eliminating each other - for good.
Saudi Arabia - Keeping their friends close and their enemies even closer since 1932.
I’ve been thinking that this might be more about Iran. Alot Black Hawks and Fighter Jets may be needed should all heck breaks loose.
