Snoopy Dog Dog needs a ride.
No UAW-mobiles in the clintonh8r household....
I think that was Snoop Dogg, who is not yet Dogg Ggone.
Ah, the people do need some circuses and bread now and then to keep them calm. Is Al Gore getting apoplexies? Or is there some massive nod, wink going on between him and the Globull Warming slyentists and the Bumm Bummer?
So.
They eliminated two out of six passenger car brands by canning Saturn and Pontiac.
That’s a one-third loss in brand lines.
And they got a 25% increase in the remaining brand sales.
I haven’t done the math on the volume ratios, but on the surface it would appear to be a case of “Liars Figure.”
This is “Government Motors”. Just like the econmic reports, wait for the “revised” numbers next month :-)
F GM and Chrysler.
“Buick sold 16,799 vehicles in July” and “Cadillac delivered 14,919 units”
In 2007 Pontiac sold 30,023, almost the combined total of both Buick and Cadillac in 2010. And they did away with Pontiac?
Yep, this is awkward for the liberals, if the bigger cars, SUVs, vans, trucks, etc. are leading the sales. The liberals want us all to drive tiny cars to be “green” and save a planet and all that.
But, they are pushing the tiny electric Chevy Volt, which is expected to cost $41,000.
I never understand that the liberals never understand that the power to charge up the electric cars has to be generated somewhere. And that somewhere is often a coal fired power plant. So how “green” will these electric cars really be?
Don’t buy Government Motors, it just goes to the DNC and the Obama campaign.
this is misleading - a lot of GM brands have vanished.
The claims that certain brands are up forgets the fact that a lot of brands have died or were sold to the Chinese.
My ‘97 Lumina LS was made in Canada, and has almost 275,000 on the ticker. I plan to keep driving it until the interior becomes uninhabitable, the wheels fall off, or Jesus returns; whichever comes first.
This will be my LAST GM rig — EVER.
IF I ever need to replace the car, I’ll shop for mid 20th century Ford iron, or buy a totally foreign make.
I will not bless UAW/Government collusion with a single cent more than I absolutely must, and not one red cent to support any of the Greeniacs’ misadventures in Autopia.
Although, I have heard that Audi has been racing a new diesel technology that just goes like a scalded cat...
Nah. Too many bells and whistles.
I have to agree with that Toyota exec who, back during the Toyota hearings said something like, “We’ve made cars far too complex.”
Well, “Hallelujah,” and “Amen”!
I was hoping SOMEONE in the automotive world would “get it” someday.
I want something with an engine housed in a cavity large enough to work around the whole thing, rear-drive so I can work on the transmission without dismantling the entire front end, OBD-free...heck, I’ll even take crank-up windows, manual choke, and AM-only radio. I just want it simple, basic, functional, and easy to fix if it needs it. I want to drive my car; not live in my car.
Oh well, guess I will carry the water around here again :)
I had a 99 Mustang Cobra. The new Mustang has 15 HP Less that the Cobra did and 10 HP less than the 2010 Mustang GT.
I am having more fun driving the Mustang than I did with my Mercedes CLK Cabriolet, and it is just the Base Model. I would probably have a coronary if I bought the new 5.0...
As far as Bang for the Buck, it's a winner. If I could afford it, I would buy the 2011 5.0 in a heartbeat. I almost bought a Camaro SS last year. Glad I didn't.
I can't believe I'm saying this, but it looks like I'm a Ford guy. I guess I should thank Obama for that. LOL
I guess that stimulus money is getting around. ACORN staff vehicles?
2011 Audi A7
GM wants to make the world's best cars again. They have a LONG way to go.
DIE UAW and the Goverment Motors car you rode in on.
... Ford’s newest vehicles helped the company continue to grow as Ford, Lincoln and Mercury dealers delivered 166,092 new vehicles in July - a 5 percent increase versus a year ago, when “Cash for Clunker” sales started to surge.
Year-to-date sales totaled 1.12 million, up 24 percent, with growth across Ford’s full family of cars (up 21 percent), utilities (up 19 percent) and trucks (up 32 percent).
“Customers are rewarding Ford for providing the performance they want and the fuel economy they need,” said Ken Czubay, Ford vice president, U.S. Marketing, Sales and Service. “New class-leading powertrains are the ‘secret weapon’ in every new product we are bringing to market.” ...

Bring back the Hummer H2!
The only vehicle I wanted other than a Corvette.
I won’t buy anything else, however since the Hummer has ben branded the status of the Satan spawn vehicle by the left and the greenies just as much as they hate Sarah Palin I am going shopping for a used one.
Does anyone else wonder how many of those cars and trucks were bought by the government?
