Randy Luth was surprised to learn in 2006 that Cerberus Capital Management wanted to buy his St. Cloud (Minn.) business. What would Manhattan financiers known for investing in distressed debt and troubled companies want with DPMS Firearms, a manufacturer of semiautomatic rifles?
Cerberus had more than DPMS in its sights. From April 2006 to January 2008 it bought three other firearms companies: Bushmaster, Remington, and Marlin. And it kept adding to its collection. Cerberus now controls 13 brands in a holding company it created, Madison (N.C.)-based Freedom Group. With sales of $848.7 million in 2009, Freedom Group is the largest gun and ammo maker in the U.S. That means Stephen A. Feinberg, Cerberus' founder and managing member, is the country's top civilian gun magnate. its stake in Chrysler's financing business.
Luth, the rifle maker, says that when he arrived at Cerberus' Park Avenue offices to negotiate a deal in 2007, he discovered that Feinberg and several of his partners "are real gun guys." Feinberg stalks pheasant in upstate New York and has taken a bull elk in Colorado, according to hunting buddy T.K. Duggan, a New York money manager. "He's a dedicated sportsman, nothing fancy," says Duggan. He adds that as far as his friend is concerned, "what your hobby is doesn't determine what you do with your investors' money." Cerberus closed on the acquisition of DPMS in December 2007 for an undisclosed sum.

They also make single-shots and Class III. But I guess that's above the writer's pay grade.
A good chunk of the firearms and ammo industry has been being bought up over the last few years. I don’t think that control in a few places is going to be a good thing, it makes the companies more vulnerable for government targeting.
Cerberus is a multi-headed left wing corporation involved in Soros’ NWO.
Cerberus was able to inject capital into the small firms it acquired. The combined firms are much more able to expand and compete in the world firearms market. The Chrysler buy was sunk by the recession and by the inability to adjust to the market turn away from mini-vans and big pickups. Cerberus lost almost 100% of its money in Chrysler when the government sucked up the company.
Wait until you see the crap that gets passed during the coming lame duck session. Sales will pick up again in February, once the scope of the regulations and restrictions become more widely known.
Just in time for Californians to get flagged for buying handgun ammo. Anyone that needs anything oughta be buying it now.
I'm having trouble believing that line.
Could this be a step in the direction of closing the factories that make guns? Just asking.

No, Cerberus is dedicated to a simple principle....make money. They do not want to close plants unless there is excess capacity that can be consolidated into a more efficient operation.
Last year news interested me on hearing that SEIU had rather quickly got itself into Caritas Christi, a not-for-profit hospital network in New England.
Soon after that Cerebrus was in the news for having offered to purchase the six hospitals and to pour a fortune into them to upgrade and make them standouts in the health industry.
So far so good. Then, I found in the agreement that if the Catholic hospital chain could not fulfill the services of other medical centers, Caritas Christi would have to give up its religious affiliations.
That made me look further and subsequently find connections between Cerebrus and Soros.
Do me a favor if you're interested in National Health Care, listen to this brief radio ad that debuted while Cerberus was in negotiations with Caritas, Caritas Cristi Commitment and tell me if you get the same feeling of socializing health care that I do.
I think you are seeing conspiracies. The ad is more about quality and cost rather than socialized medicine.
I'm not sure about the SEIU link either. All I can find is that SEIU got nice deals from the state of Mass (thanks Romney!) for their healthcare fiasco.
Lastly, Cerberus is buying Caritas Christi to turn a profit after 3 years because they know more people will be in the healthcare system, so the price of hospitals will go up.
I have never seen Cerberus promote anything liberal. Their primary motive is profit....which is just what I would want.
