He was a professor of mine in the late 70s. A group of us would refer to him as "Chairman How"

The fact that he was a commie is of no surprise. In fact it would have been a shock if we found out her was not a communist.

On the website of the Center for American Progress, the pro-Obama group funded by billionaire George Soros, Matthew Yglesias conceded the point that Zinn's popular People's History book was "neither good history nor good politics, offering basically nothing in terms of ways to think about solutions to the problems of the world..." But he said it was nevertheless read by "most of the best people" and "that's a pretty impressive achievement."
So the books a piece of crap but because "most of the best people" read it that makes it an impressive piece of crap.

Who decides who are the "best people"?

The fbi is full of commies... full of good people too... but the commies are there and their ranks are growing. Joe McCarthy was 100% right.

"I distrust the sincerity of people who peck away at broad-based movements by pointing to organizers or participants who have special political positions."
-Howard Zinn

Someone tell Hollywood and the MSM that Howard would be very displeased with their "pecking away" at the broad-based Tea Party movement.

I'm sure that'll shut them up. /s

I remember the adverts for the “The People Speak” doc on the History Channel. I looked at the roster of Hollyweird ignorati participating and decided to avoid it surmising at the time that it sounded like something from Zinn’s bs history book. It turns out I was right. Now if all those rich, lib celebs decided to forgo their multi-million dollar acting or recording contracts or donate the lions share to the poor “oppressed” people they whine about, I’d be more impressed. Until then, they can urinate up a rope.

Karl Marx expected the masses to rise up and over throw the oppressive, abusive Capitalist. Since most “masses” in Capitalist countries are not dissatisfied the Marxists set about with deceptive propaganda campaigns to make them so.

They use a few dedicated activists to conduct wild demonstrations and protests. They bus in activists from all over to make their numbers look much greater than they are and to make it seem as if those are all local people who are dissatisfied.

Even that is usually not enough so they resort to voter and election fraud, all the while accusing their opponents of the same. I recently heard some big Democrat warning about election fraud by the Republicans, a sure give away that was what the Democrats have planned.

They have two strategies for the November elections - voter fraud and trying to make the Republicans over confident to suppress turn out. That is what the recent reports we are hearing from Gibbs and the media that the Democrats will probably lose the House is all about. They will also do their normal dirty tricks of infiltrating the Tea Party Movement and acting in a way to discredit the movement.

Why do some, even useful idiots, want to be governed by people who do that?

Thank you for posting this article. When I heard about Matt Damon doing the film, I decided that I would never give him one more second of my life watching any of his films no matter how intriquing they might be. Same with Danny Glover. Mortenson I have to confess to an inconsistency because I love Lord of the Rings so much and I loved the role he played. It will be interesting to me if I can just watch him without thinking about his true “red” heart. Probably not—grrrr! These Lefties spoil everything!
