I agree with you except for one thing.
There is one thing that as far as I know, they have never been able to freeze.
Helium.
Helium can be frozen into its solid state, which is still only 66x denser than air, whereas water is about 1000x denser than air, but such freezing has to be done in a pressure vessel.

I would love to work for some company where they can send me to Christchurch, New Zealand to partake in this fine drink ! Even more than three years after taking a trip to New Zealand, I still am very fond of the place. Christchurch was one of my favorite places to visit.

Is "northern" Antarctic coast redundant in the same sentence with South Pole as the reference? I believe that by international agreement, for location and navigation purposes, the Greenwich meridian is arbitrarily assigned as North, and the other cardinal directions referenced to that.

Agree. One "conserves" in a museum.
I drink my whisky and, sometimes, save the bottle when its empty. But even that gets recycled after a week or so. Usually its just to remind me to re-stock.

Well, if it has to thaw, there’s no alcohol in it. Might as well drink a diet coke.

I do not have my Bergey’s at home, it is at the lab, but it seems to me that the conditions wouldn’t be correct at the depths, temperatures etc for Acetobacter aceti.
I work in food pathology but mostly E.coli 157:H7, Listeria and Salmonella so my recall on acetobacter’s is limited to my junior year in college.

Your Chivas will be twelve year old Scotch till the last drop is consumed. Once out of the barrel, the “aging” stops. That should not, however, diminish your enjoyment of it this Christmas one iota.
