Journolist Excerpts Show Progressive Journalists’ Panties In A Twist Over Fox News
David Horowitz's NewsReal Blog ^ | Susan Duclos

“Liberal journalists suggest government shut down Fox News” is definitely an eye catching Daily Caller headline, but it does not accurately describe the mindset shown in the leaked excerpts from Journolist, the 400 member listserv created by Erza Klein.

It does not show a grand liberal conspiracy to shut Fox News down, as it was simply suggested by one email, but it does show that Fox News has progressive journalists’ panties in a twisted bunch.

It shows fear when Guardian columnist Daniel Davies, states “I am genuinely scared” of Fox.” And it demonstrates intolerance of conflicting opinion when he writes, “In order to have even a semblance of control, you need a tough legal framework.”

The desire to see Fox News shut down is also demonstrated in Journolist messages from Jonathan Zasloff, a law professor at UCLA, when he asks why the “FCC couldn’t simply pull their [Fox] broadcasting permit once it expires.”

The back and forth between the Journolist members establishes fear, intolerance, and desire to see Fox News gone. The discussion also raises the question of why one news station that is not slanted leftward gets these journalists so upset.

In September 2009, Pew Research did an in-depth analysis of the media from 1985 to 2009 and the results show the public perceives a liberal media bias in today’s journalism.

60 percent say the press is politically biased. 50 percent says press favors liberals. 22 percent say the press favors conservatives 27 percent says the no answer/don’t know. In January 2010, Public Policy Polling (PPP), a Democratic leaning pollster, found that Fox News was trusted by more people than ABC News, CBS News, CNN, and NBC News.

We need to connect the LIST to DNC and BO’s thugs in particular.

Palin and/or FOX should bring a lawsuit to get the complete list of members.

"27 percent says the no answer/don’t know"

"27 percent says [sic] they can't tie their own shoes and love to pick scabs"

There. Fixed it.

Russia has a long long history of disappearing it’s enemies of the state.

In this case they simply planned to destroy with words anyone who disagreed with their plans for America.

Deadly dangerous and cannot be allowed to get away with their evil ways.

This is just the left doing what they’re good at: projecting. While they’re busy calling conservatives fascists they want the government to shut down Fox news. So who’s the fascist? I haven’t heard anyone on the right call for shutting down MSNBC.

This is more of a practical matter. Shutting down MSNBC would deprive two stoned hippies of what they think is a Saturday Night Live rerun. Shutting down FOX would deprive a nation of some chance to know the truth.

The American Free Press has become a Propaganda Machine for the Left.

The Leftist agenda will require a police state.

Leftists are willing to establish a police state in order to achieve their agenda. Many of them are eager to do this.

Agreed, we need MSNBC to provide us with laughs.

But I also believe there's a larger philosophical difference, conservatives would prefer to let the free market decide these things. MSNBC is being propped up at the moment because so few listen to them while Fox rating's are through the roof.

That's what really irks the left, they can't win in the marketplace of ideas so they have to impose themselves on us with the Fairness Doctrine or NPR. And if that don't work then just shut the other side down outright.

very revealing that we have tenured professors in universities who have never read the Communications Act of 1934 (and yet feel free to spew forth on these issues)

Leftists regularly accuse others of their own evils--intolerance--hate--racism--injustice--greed--groupthink--closed mindedness--et al. Whether this is projection or cynical propaganda I don't know, but they do it.

In fact, the words they apply to themselves--"liberal"--"progressive"--are Orwellian misnomers, like "war is peace", "freedom is slavery", "love is hate".

There is nothing liberal or progessive about these people. They are the opposite.

Check out the case of RCTV in Venezuela. They criticized Chavez, and “on 27 May 2007, RCTV made headlines when the Government of Venezuela decided not to renew their radio broadcast license...”

Just one more sign then “Law “Professor”: Cable Doesn’t Have Broadcast License!” Flip Side “DUmmy!”

: )

Seriously. A communist prof was called “flotsam and jetsom” in our school paper because he got booted from Harvard and wound up with us. A) The “professor” didn’t know what flotsam and jetsom was and had to look it up B) It really hurt him : ) (love it when they are made to realize that the intellectual ability is a pretense and they are political affirmative action hires)
