The mere fact that this idea is being pushed in opposition to fervent protests, and common decency, tells me pretty much all I need to know.
They are not seeking peaceful coexistence by building at this spot.
No Mosque near ground zero...It just doesn’t belong there....It’s like having a statue of King George on the White House Lawn.
Building a mosque at Ground Zero would be akin to hanging a scalp on the lodge pole.
It should not be allowed to happen.
I received this email from a Frenchman that I used to work for. We witnessed the collapse of the towers on TV on 9-11 during an engineering meeting at the facility that he ran:

I want to know how such a thing exists as an ‘un-indicted co-conspirator’ first. Why wasn’t he thrown in gitmo?
I went over to DU and you wouldn’ believe the support. I almost wish I had an account so I could ask them if a group of christians flew a building into the black moon rock in mecca if they’d support building a church next to it. In fact, I could even ask if it was like those westboro baptists or some other cult.
I know they’d say no normally, since there’s this sick union of islam and the left going on.
I heard it said, but haven’t verified myself, that a common historic practice/tactic of the warring Muslims is to build a mosque on the site of their military victories. It’s an in-your-face haha we killed you monument.
It could be seen as analogous to allowing the family of Timothy McVeigh placing a statue of him across the street from where the Murrah Federal Bldg once stood.
Some things are just plain intolerable!
What do you think would happen if the Japanese tried to build a religious center honoring Hirohito at Pearl Harbor 10 years after the attack took place? It wouldn’t even get off the drawing board.
