They have all kinds of tricks and are always coming up with new ones. They look at decent citizens as sheep to be shorn and steal and cheat as a matter of course.

When I was working at a bake shop along a major highway in northern California, I learned to keep an eye on the parking lot and shut/lock the door fast the moment one of those dilapidated Cadillacs bottomed its way into the parking lot.

Let a swarm of gypsy kids into the shop and they would clear the shelves of the expensive stuff while the “mother” screeched and faked a fit and the father waved his arms shouted to distract the staff.

Then, all the kids would scatter and the parents would “buy” a cheap loaf of bread and leave in a simulated huff.

They’d pick up the kids a block or so away — after they had wolfed down all the bread they could swallow and had thrown the rest away.

Cops wouldn’t even bother to take a report.

Whatever they want to be called, “Traveling People”, “Travelers” or “Gypsies”, there is only one realistic description for these people - parasites!

I don't think this group is connected to the Carolina group. It's my understanding that the Travelers, (Murphys, etc.) eschew violence as that ensures indictment. They can weasel out of a repair scam charge by simply returning part or all of the repair cost.

These people are more probably Christian. The political correctness here surprised me too, however: Gypsies prefer to be called Roma.

I'm pretty sure that some of the Gypsies in Europe these days have Albanian roots. While a Christian background is still likely, once the Balkans enter the discussion there are no guarantees.
